Conley for sure is when you consider someone like Jaron Brown is making 4 million this year.

Swaim and Conley are essentially being paid like 2nd round rookies

Cedric essentially a try out with zero need to keep him if he isn't performing

I like this deal. Lots of upside and great depth when healthy. And again, on the CHEAP!

I wish they did this last year after signing Norwell. Why make it impossible to NOT dump talented players after the season? I hated most of their off-season moves last year immediately.

Have we heard the definite numbers on Blake's contract with the Rams yet? Supposedly he had contract verbiage to where we get a credit matching his yearly amount up to 6.5mil?

It's a one year deal.

Probably near the league minimum (around 900k) since it doesn't make sense for the rams to overpay when he's being compensated up to 6.5 mil by the Jags.

No, but it likely won't be much. Besides, the credit for any offset would apply to the Jags' 2020 cap figure, not 2019.

So we're giving Jake Ryan $4,000,000.00 per year if he properly earns it.

"My thoughts on what I've been Thinking."

I'm praying that JR is as  advertised to say the least. If/when he comes in and "Steals The Show" w/respect to being an tackling machine, our D will be upgraded at the position to which we definitely need. If we acquire an baller DT in the draft, there will be no drop off from 2018 to 2019 in my opinion.

2019 cap hits:
Geoff Swaim $1.75m ($1.5m base plus $250k in 1 year amortization of bonus)
Cedric Ogbeuhi $735k ($805k base plus $90k bonus, less vet miminum credit), and
Jake Ryan $2m ($1m base plus $250k 1 year bonus amortization, plus $500k roster bonus, and $250k roster bonus).

Both Swaim and Ryan signed 2 year deals, with base salaries that increase significantly if the teams wants to keep them. The signing bonuses for these 2 players are very low, allowing the team to release them after year 1 with minimal dead money hit if elected.

So far, great deals from a cap perspective, with flexibility.

Good to hear, look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.
