And for the record I'm not OK with him publishing it, much less hacking it.

It is very possible to help someone hack a password for a database without having physical access to the machine.  For the record I don't think that President Obama should have ever pardoned Bradly Manning for what he did.  Manning knowingly and willingly broke the law and should have suffered the consequences.

It's not President Trump's "judgment", it's about charges from the DOJ.

Chelsea Manning*

He didn't help her hack, he coerced her to continue hacking to get him more info.

But he didn't extort it.

I fail to see the crime from Julian Assange really, other than the US deeming him some sort of terrorist for telling their secrets.

Snowden and Assange are vigilantes for the truth man.
Enemies of the state, but no enemy of mine.

I don't have much issue with Chelsea Manning either, except... ya know... you CHOSE to join the fight, only to turn on them... because you didn't want to go to war... and wanted to be a woman.
So... ya know... some people are selfish and some are selfless.
And some people's perception of each changes or hinges on how they feel about someone personally it seems.
Or at least political affiliation.

Anywho....
I love Trump's about face on this (and I say love with the most sarcasm possible)

Candidate Trump "I love wikileaks, keep it comin"
POTUS Trump "I dont know anything about it"

He better keep my money flow right, or I'll turn on him quicker than he waffles like a Democrat lol

As I said in my post, it's all about what Assange is charged with.  I'm not saying that he's guilty because I'm not privy to any evidence.  He is being charged with aiding Bradly Manning in cracking a password on a classified information system in order to obtain classified documents.  As far as I'm concerned he is innocent until proven guilty and should man up and appear in court.

Edward Snowden and Bradly Manning are/were both traitors and should have been treated as such.  Both at a minimum should be serving life sentences behind bars.

Edward Snowden is a whistleblower, not a traitor. A brave one at that.

Agreed. Without Snowden, we'd have seen state surveillance continue unchecked for God only knows how long. In fairness, and IIRC, he did reveal classified information about troop location and movements as well, and if that's the case, that's something he should not have done.
