***Jaguars Vs. Eagles Preseason Game Night Thread***

(This post was last modified: 08-15-2019, 02:06 PM by AmeliaFL.)

Welcome back, Jaguars fans!   Smile  Our 2019 Jaguars NFL team are back in the City Of Jacksonville, Florida, as they host both their first preseason game, and home game of their 2019 NFL Season, with the visiting Super Bowl LII Champions Philadelphia Eagles at TIAA Bank Field. Jaguars and Eagles are playing their first scheduled preseason game in six years.

Both the Jaguars vs. Eagles are coming from Week 1 losses on August 8, and both seek their first preseason win in 2019 tonight, and their game also leads off Week 2 of the 2019 NFL Preseason Schedule. Ravens shut our Jaguars 29-0 last Thursday in Baltimore, while the Tennessee Titans defeated the Eagles 27-10 at Lincoln Financial Field.

Tonight's preseason game may feature two  quarterbacks, facing their former teams and also played in the Pac 12 Conference while both were in college, Nick Foles from the University Of Arizona and Michigan State, and Cody Kessler from USC. However, Foles reportedly won't play tonight, instead see his teammates in training camps playing and trying to secure roster spots on the playing field for the regular season.

Jaguars starting QB Nick Foles may play at least a few offensive series with the first team offensive unit, and facing his former team.  Foles signed his $88 million, four-year contract with Jacksonville after both the start of the NFL free agency period and calendar year back on March 13.  Foles also had two career stints with Philadelphia, his first tour of duty from 2012 to 2014, after being drafted in the third round, and 88th overall pick of the 2012  NFL Draft.

Foles then played with the KC Chiefs and St. Louis Rams, before returning and re-signing with Philadelphia on March 13, 2017, and  backup their first-round draft pick QB Carson Wentz, who suffered a back injury after a QB draw at the L.A. Rams.  Wentz started the last two regular season, and two postseason game, climaxing to leading the Eagles win their first Super Bowl by defeating the favored New England Patriots 41-33 in Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis, and earning and being named Super Bowl MVP.

Former Jaguars backup QB Cody Kessler is also competing  with Nate Sudfeld  and rookie draft pick Clayton Thorson, for the backup QB position behind Carson Wentz. Cleveland Browns traded Kessler to the Jaguars for a conditional seven-round 2019 draft pick back in March 2918. Kessler started two games for Jacksonville after Blake Bortles was benched during the 2018 NFL season, and the Jaguars released Kessler on May 9, 2019. Eagles signed Kessler three days later on May 12.

Jaguars are currently 0-3 in preseason games over the Eagles.seek to win their first ever game tonight in their fourth preseason meeting tonight. Philadelphia edged Jacksonville 33-32 in both teams first-ever preseason meeting back on August 27, 2009, and the Eagles defeated our Jaguars again following year in both teams preseason opener by the score of 28-27, on August 13, 2010, both preseason games played at Lincoln Financial Field.

Eagles also defeated the Jaguars 31-24 in both teams recent preseason game played at then-named EverBank Field. Eagles RB Chris Polk rann the game-winning 4-yard touchdown run with 10:11 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Jacksonville and Philadelphia are also currently tied at three games apiece after playing six regular season gamack on October 28, 2018.es, the Jaguars winning the first three games, then the Eagles winning the next three games. Eagles defeated our Jaguars by the score of 24-18 in their last game played overseas at Wembley Stadium in London, England, UK. Eagles QB Carson Wentz threw the game-deciding 5-yard TD pass to TE Zach Ertz with 9:55 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Brian Sexton and former Jaguars and NFL offensive lineman Leon Searcy, are announcing the live TV  commentary, with game coverage beginning at 7:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, and simulcast on flagship station WFOX-TV Channel 30, and the 11 station Jaguars preseason television network, all stations seen live on HD. WFOX-TV Channel 30's game coverage precedes with the Jaguars Countdown To Kickoff Pregame Show at 6:30 PM, after Action News Jax.

Tonight's Jaguars Vs. Eagles preseason game on WFOX-TV Channel 30 can also be seen live online in your mobile and computer through both their Jaguars team website and mobile app.

Cloudy skies and scattered thunderstorms  at 82 degrees, feels like 90 degrees, is the local gamecast for tonight's 7:05 PM Eastern Standard Time inside Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association  Bank Stadium, along with 45% precipitation, 78% humidity, and south/southwestern winds at 10 miles per hour.

NO injuries, great luck to both the Jaguars and Eagles players as both teams continue to both showcase their talents on offense, defense, and special teams, in making through the current 90-man training camp rosters to the final 53-man regular season roster. Defeat the Eagles to win your first-ever preseason game over Philadelphia, and LET'S GO JAGUARS!!!!!!! Wink Smile DUVALLLLLLL!!!!! Cool Big Grin

No injuries, please. Thank you!

This game is gonna be totally unwatchable. We'll roll out the same lame lineup we did last week against the Ravens and the Eagles will be playing by Cody Kessler and Clayton Thorson, as they won't play Wentz and Sudfeld is injured. My prediction is that the game ends in a 0-0 tie as neither team reaches the others 35 yard line.

I'll watch until I can't stomach anymore.

Should be by the second offensive series.

Who cares. Life is pain.

Jags 42, Philly 10.

Foles leads the Jaguars on a 90 yard drive on the first series. Looking Brady-esque. Distributing the ball evenly among his receivers, rb, and te. Foles box score: 11-11, 90 yards, 1 td pass, perfect qb rating

#9

I'll be trying to watch LBs and if the coaches will actually run some offensive plays and not backyard [BLEEP] like last week. At least allow the QBs to get some good film. Other than that, I expect to be losing interest by the second quarter.

That statline would give you a passer rating of 131. Not perfect. Try again.

Hopefully Josh Allen and Andre Dillard face off a bunch. That's about the only thing worth watching for me.

We know you can't go - it's a school night. I hope you're allowed to stay up and watch it on TV. Good thing for you Donald isn't holding a rally somewhere.

As I've had season tickets from Day One I know I've seen more Jags games than you - which includes useless, over-priced, bad weather, totally forgettable preseason farces.

Does this mean you have to miss Martha MacCallum?

Keep it in the political section, please.

My expectations are low.
1. Cross into Iggles territory
2. Score (TD, FG, anything)
3. Pray starters dont slip on the sidelines
