Hurt again.  Not good.

It was tragic, I was really proud of him too, and of course he goes down. Having lots of downtime and coming back full speed didn’t help him.

Ah the playoffs are finally here. And I am looking forward to seeing this new version of the lakers in prime time. Especially against dame and Portland. If LeBron goes back to chill mode they will lose for sure. On the real tho, Portland has no shot. I give them 2 games being generous.

And since I am a Magic fan I have to make a prediction, which I did last year when I said I thought the magic had basically resigned a team with the 8th seed as the roof. They will get sweep. Just not good enough, especially without Isaac. We need a star or really two, and we got none.

Another series I think is interesting is the nets vs Toronto. Toronto will win, but these nets are scrappy, I expect at least one game to be stolen if not two. If Kyrie and Durant actually wanted to try this team could go deep, but those two have kind of proven to be malcontents so who knows. Also good on Jacque Vaughn for how he has the nets playing, he didn’t work out with the magic, but he deserved this shot. Toronto was not a great playoff team before Kawhi last year and I expect them to return to that. But not in the first round.

The west is a mad house. I don’t know who I expect to win other than the Clippers and Lakers. Everyone else feels like they could go either way. The middle of the East feels that way too for Miami vs Pacers. I actually like the pacers there. But I expect the top seed to win everything else pretty easily. Also I expect Philadelphia to blow up its front office and coach after they get bounced in the first round. They got dealt a bad hand and were never consistent in the first place. Letting Reddick walk was dumb, they need his spacing. Overpaying Tobias Harris was dumb as well. Guy is not a max player, great role player, but not a max. I feel like the magic have traded Tobias multiple times now, and I am never happy when they do, but I am glad he isn’t on that contract here tho.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing how this all plays out.

All good points above .....

* Interestingly enough, the Magic stole game 1 --- I also, didn't think they had a chance without Isaac.
* Never really understood how Tobias is getting these huge deals. The Sixers would have been much better off re-signing Reddick and TJ McConnell to help space the floor. That said, the loss of Celtics Gordon Hayward definitely helps the Sixers
* Very interesting to see the Lakers struggling to hit 3-point shots (5 for 32) --- If Danny Green doesn't find his shot, they may be done. Maybe he hates the Lakers .... lol -- I think they'll get it done in this round though.
*Aside from the Magic, I'm pulling for the Raptors in the East --- would be amazing if they go to the finals without Kawhi.

Well the second game looked much more like what I expected with the Magic. Stealing that first one was great, but we know they don’t have the talent to win this series.

Lakers/LeBron did the passive thing the first game and got beat, but they came back the last game and I still expect them to win. If Dame is out I don’t think the Blazers win anymore games. That stone cold shooting was never gonna last for the lakers, they aren’t that bad at the 3, I mean Lonzo’s on the pelicans now lol.

I am rooting for the Mavs to beat the clippers. I am not a fan of Paul George or Kawhi at this point. Also PG13 hasn’t been good in the playoffs since he left Indiana. I know that injury was brutal, but he looks like he’s back in the regular then he looks washed in the postseason on offense. Not sure what to think of the Clippers, they should beat the mavs tho.

Toronto looking good so far. They look legit. I don’t see them getting past the Bucks but still. It’s too bad Boston and Toronto are gonna face off. I would like to see Boston beat the Bucks, cause I think they match up well, but if the Raptors keep balling, it prob won’t happen.

Boycotts. Just cancel the playoffs and send them all home. What a joke. Dude with a criminal record disobeyed the cops like an idiot.

The boycott will be completely meaningless unless they cancel the playoffs. And even then it'll be pretty meaningless as it's not like they are bringing attention to a topic no one is talking about. Everyone has been talking about it for months. If they are going to boycott every time a cop shoots a black guy before any facts are presented, they may as well never play again. The violent crime rate in black communities is disproportionally high and cops are human beings which means they'll never be perfect. Until the inner city black communities quit being hellscapes, cops and violent criminals will interact and people will be shot. It's inevitable. Demanding things get better with no real answers solves nothing. It's just moral posturing that'll just end up dividing people and making things worse.

The nba is gonna lose a lot of money over this if it goes down. That’s their choice, but it no surprise that the most diva players are the ones leading the charge. How are nikes sales doing?

It is just pure optics because they know the league will never let them cancel the playoffs.

look at the lengths they have gone to to make it happen.

1 player can't step down alone and doesnt look like they are all going to step down together.

So far it has been pretty exciting on the west side. Was kind of sad to see the Denver-Utah series end. But this must happen, and the better team advanced. I am not sure if Denver is good enough to beat the clippers, but they (clippers) don’t look like an elite team to me other than Kawhi.

On the other side, Boston is doing work. I like them more and more. Irving leaving was addition by subtraction. Kimba is a much better fit both in mentality and on the court than Kyrie. And Jason Tatum, man that guy is good. I have to give credit were it is due, Danny Ainge was a terrible GM earlier in his tenure, but he has been so much better the last 12 years it’s crazy. So much talent on that team that was straight up drafted, and Brad Stevens is a fantastic coach. At this point I expect them to come out of the East. The Bucks just don’t look ready. I do think the Bucks will beat Miami, but then again I didn’t think Miami would sweep the pacers either. Miami has been much better than expected.

Another underdog I am rooting for is the Thunder. I used to be mad at them about the Seattle thing, but after they lost Oladipo, Westbrook, Durant, and Harden, they might have paid their dues. And I love the CP3 pettiness. The Thunder are not the more talented team, but I hope they knock the rockets out. I also think the Rockets will get blown up if that happens. Morey just hasn’t delivered IMO, and a analytics guy should have known that Westbrook isn’t going to put them over the top. Either way I expect the winner of this series to lose to the lakers. LeBron and AD looks dialed in, guys are playing great.

If I picked a finals matchup right now I would say Boston Lakers. And I think I like Boston, but I am probably riding the hype train. It wouldn’t shock me if the clippers made it on their talent and Kawhis clutch play, but I don’t think Rivers is a good enough coach to out duel Stevens, ditto for Lakers as well. Boston is just so deep.

IDK about anyone else, but I am pretty surprised at how well Miami is playing. Ditto for Toronto, I thought they would roll over after the first two games but they didn't. The Bucks on the other hand, they are a goner if Giannis isn't back for game 5. Erik Spoelstra is a really good coach. I am so impressed with what he has done post LeBron era. Miami has excelled at getting and removing talent when it doesn't fit. I think being in south Beach probably helps, but still, its impressive. Maybe Lebron should have gone there instead of the Lakers.

Anyway at this point I still think Boston will win their series, but they definitely came back down to earth the last couple of games combined with Toronto starting to make some shots (except Lowry, that man has so much choking experience he could be a strangler). I like Toronto tho, and I would like them to advance just so we could see that it wasn't all Kawhi last year.

On the clippers and Nuggets series, I am going for the nuggets, but I don't think they will win. Especially if Jokic is out. Lakers Rockets still feels like a fait accompli to me that the Lakers will come out on top. I have no idea why LeBron James lead teams in the last couple of years like to drop the early games. I haven't investigated, but it feels like this is a pattern: lose game one, suddenly Lebron plays way better and they come back and win. Its almost like its on purpose.

Heat are playing hard. The Celtics should be winning based on talent, but the heat just want it more. I love the nuggets beating the clippers, but they won’t get past LeBron.

When the players are wearing t shirts during warmups that say "Vote", does that mean they want you to vote Democrat.

Considering only 20% of them vote I think it’s more like a checklist to remind each other. They are too busy usually.

I am looking forward to seeing how the ECF goes. Boston was too good to be swept. If they keep up the intensity they will get to meet the Lakers who I feel certain will get to the Finals. I am kind of rooting for Jimmy Butlers crazy hair to make it to the finals tho, that kind of energy is just funny.

On a side note, I have to give some respect to LeBron. He really is a beast, I did not expect him to roll through the West like he did the East, but he did. It makes me think the West was really more of a bunch of really good but not elite teams, whereas the East is more top heavy. Although we don’t have the one truly elite team that was in the West in the past (Golden State) so maybe it’s not fair, but he took care of the Rockets like they were the Magic. That team has some really good talent.

No, it's a reminder that everyone should attend their annual homeowners meeting so they can vote on key landscaping regulations within the community.

Obviously. Sheesh. people just don’t seem to understand how much pride athletes take in their yards. Not sure how anyone could confuse this with some political agenda.

These athletes are in a bubble and they know their neighbors are watching. So they are just tossing out a subtle reminder during their pregame. Duhh

So lakers heat is going how I thought every other heat series would go. This might be the easiest ring LeBron ever gets.

Agreed. Heat are a cool story with herro, bam, and butler but they are punching above their weight class with the lakers. I thought the bucks hadn’t looked very good at all since they started in the bubble so I wasn’t as shocked as most when they dropped out.

If this doesn’t end up as a sweep I don’t think it will get past 5.

I agree with the going 5 take. Lakers killed themselves tonight with the turnovers, but I don’t see that happening again. Heat might win one more game at best IMO.

Bam is coming back but when you are playing a line up 3 bigs(or at least guys over 6’10) constantly on the floor, he isn’t that big of a factor.

Butler played one of the best games of his career. I give him all the credit in the world. 40pt triple double is awesome But that isn’t something you count on happening consistently against LA.

Not to mention AD and Bron played their worst game of their playoffs, and they were still within reach. I don’t think that will happen again either.

I still think it will be LA in 5.
