Except Eifert gets injured in the self checkout line.

Just like Gronk.

Lol not even close, Gronk has like twice the games played (or more), not to mention thrice the yards and TD's than Eifert.

Not to mention that some of Gronk's missed games were done so intentionally to ensure he was healthy for the playoffs.

As much as I hate the Pats, I gotta admit that Gronk was a beast so I'm glad he retired early

Good because experts are saying this draft class for tight ends are very weak.

I wouldn't call it top heavy but there is talent to be had at TE.

Agreed, I've seen it weaker

That is one position that rookies struggle so signing a vet is a must.

Seems team friendly with some pretty obvious "stay healthy" money available in year2.

Yep very friendly prove it deal. I'd wager he got something similar from most teams so the Jay Gruden factor probably was the deciding factor

I have to assume that's 1.25M over the year in per-game bonuses, and not 1.25M per game?

Otherwise, I am getting my kid on all the supplements yesterday.

Correct.

Otherwise that 9.5 mil number would be much larger.

Does this mean his cap hit could go up to $6.5M, or does it just stay at 3.25?

$3.25m gtd + $1.25m per game bonus + $2M incentive = 6.5

Does anyone know the answer to this?

I guess I'm wondering if players end up making their incentives and game bonus, does it make their cap hit go up, or does it just remain the same?

Really miss 02 for these conversations. It all depends on if the incentive is deemed likely to be earned or not.

Found this in a recent episode of Vic:

Quote:Kevin from Grand Rapids, MI
How does an incentive-based contract work under the salary cap? Is it paid in advance, retroactive to the past, or put against the next year's cap?
If an incentive is new or hadn't been achieved in the previous season, it's not likely to be earned and, therefore, will be charged to the following season's cap. If it was earned in the previous season, it's considered likely to be earned and, therefore, must be charged to the current season. A team could find itself having to cap last year's incentive and this year's incentive in the same year. When that happens, a player's contract is often restructured to change the incentive in a manner that would move it out of the LTBE category.
