Was he playing defense?

Nope, but he did miss a lot of throws and made his trademark 2 or 3 boneheaded decisions. Thank god one of them was wiped out for a questionable flag. That throw in particular where he rolled out to his right and feebly tried to throw it across the field to Pitts in the endzone was glaring. A franchise QB has to have the arm to make an off base throw like that and Trask just doesn't.

He makes a few bad throws a game but he is a college QB first full year starting.  Most bad throws he makes like the one that was in triple coverage and the PI he threw off his back foot and was bad decision which can be fixed not because of his arm.  Same when he threw across the field, a bad decision again.  Our offense was almost unstoppable again and he still had over 300 yards and 4 TDs.  Just like the Jags, the defense is the reason for this loss and Trask didnt play defense

What in the world does UF winning or losing have to do with Trask's NFL projection?

Did you watch the game? Trask played well as usual. The defense played like the Jaguars. They gave up big plays through the air and got killed in the run game. Trask kept them in that game. He threw for over 300 yards, 4 td's and 0 int's. You're being ridiculous. This is bordering on trolling, now.

Trask and the offense have to play a damn near perfect game to make up for that awful defense, and that’s impossible to keep up with every game. Today’s loss sucked...but it definitely wasn’t Kyles fault.

I watched every second of it. He was pretty good in the first half but still had that cross field throw that proved he just doesn't have NFL arm strength. Then his entire 2nd half was subpar.

You appear to be way in the minority here.  Laughing Even Pat Mahomes has subpar games. Every QB does. With that said, if this is a subpar game for him, he's gonna be very, very good.

wut?

Florida's defense and a late fumble cost them the game. Trask, once again, was on point (although he had 2 ill advised throws [1 called back INT] that ultimately didn't end up hurting the team at all)

but okay

Bweahahaha..... so he couldn't connect on a throw he shouldn't have been throwing because 90% of QBs can't make it? (He should have thrown it 5 yards in front of him to RB)

Yes, if he wants to be drafted in the 1st round and be someone's franchise QB he needs to be able to make the throws that 90% of QBs can't make. Obviously.

Uh no... Pretty much every person everywhere says you don't throw across your body to the far side of the field, ever. Even if you have the arm strength to get it there because the defense can close in and get an INT. I'm willing to bet the other QBs talked about in the first round also can't make that throw.

It's a throw you don't make because it's a bad idea. It's a throw most NFL QBs can't make. And a throw all coaches tell you not to take.

He's a young QB. He'll learn from those mistakes. The fact that your hinging your take on a throw like that tells me you're ready to die on this hill no matter how bad or incorrect your opinion of Trask as an NFL prospect is. But feel free to dig this thread up round draft time or next year or whenever you feel like your terrible take has been proven "right".

No way. Sewell is easily #2 and DE Gregory Rousseau should go somewhere in the top 5 as well. Who ever drafts Lance and Fields is gonna waste their picks.

I know that you don’t like running QBs, but is there anything specific to Fields’ individual game that you don’t like. Also, what would you have to see from Fields this season to make you change your mind?

He has a lot of the same issues Minshew has. Fields is terrible at reading blitzes. He gets pressured and he holds the ball way too long. He took several sacks that he shouldn't have taken last year and at times, he can make poor reads. He throws better on the move than he does with a clean pocket. He relies too much on his athleticism, instead of making intelligent plays. He needs to learn to throw the ball out of bounds instead of taking dumb sacks.

He would have to show much more football intelligence than he had last season to make me change my mind.

Weren't those the same knocks on Patrick Mahomes when he was drafted?

Actually, I've never personally met any GM's. Have you?
