What’s next for Watson?

He is genuinely unhappy about some real serious issues with the Texans franchise and the way it is being run.  If I was in his shoes, I'd want to get out, too.  And it would have nothing to do with wanting to "cash in."

It doesn't add up though.  He says he wants to play for a winning culture.
But as you said though, if he is traded for a boat load of picks and players, then the team he will go to will have little talent.

I think he is trying to copy what fellow Houston, James Harden did and force a trade to a winning/super team.
However the value of any player in football is much smaller than in the NBA where you only have a 15 man roster and only 5 players on the court at any given time.

Watson really overestimates his impact and ability.

Read the article above. It paints a very different picture. I think there is a bit of what you are saying but I think it is a whole lot more complicated than a diva athlete who is delusional about his value.

Most signs point to the new ownership of the Texans being an absolute [BLEEP] show.

It’s like he saw our fanbase get upset with shad and was like “hold my beer, ima show you how to properly piss off a fan base and a locker room.”

Miami Dolphins should put themselves into the Super Bowl conversation by trading for Watson. Tua, 3rd, and 18th.

That would be extremely foolish.
Tua will probably end up being alot better than Watson anyway.  Tua's the superior athlete on top of having better skills.

What, that you are clueless?

If you think Tagovailoa is anywhere close to the skill level of Watson, you need your eyes checked.  I find it unfathomable that someone could actually see that.

Keep up with your unique takes though.

Time will tell. Tua is just starting his career.  Watson has been around for a while. So we will have to wait and see.

One thing though.  Tua was drafted #5 overall even with the uncertainty of his hip injury. He likely would have been 1 or 2 overall if the hip injury hadn't of happened.
Watson was drafted #12 overall.

So the guys who do this for a living think Tua is better. Now are they always right? no.  You have idiots like Ryan Pace who pass on Mahomes and trade the farm to get Mitch Trubitsky at #2.  But just something for you to chew on.

I'm not even that high on Tua but give me Tua, DeVanta Smith, and Najee Harris over Watson and his contract any day

Mel Diaper:
"ESPN NFL Draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. compares Tagovailoa's skill set and leadership qualities to future Hall of Famer Drew Brees and says NFL scouts are impressed with his vision and precision, albeit when he's healthy. Kiper considers Tagovailoa as the 2020 draft's third-best prospect overall behind Burrow and Ohio State pass rusher Chase Young.
"A quarterback with that kind of talent is so precise and so accurate, great leader," Kiper said Monday on SportsCenter. "It'll be interesting to see and ironically, Miami opted not to go with Drew Brees who ended up with New Orleans and to me, Tua is the left-handed Drew Brees.

"You think about Brees at Purdue and what he was doing with Joe Tiller and the accuracy — he moves around like Drew. He’s not only accurate, but he’s precise with his throws and the consistency. You think about it now, Miami was looking at a quarterback like Brees (back then) with durability concerns. They’re at 5, they’re not a 2 or 3. So they can’t guarantee he’ll be there if he’s cleared to go."
Kiper has been high on Tagovailoa all season and in December said only his medial report would keep him from being one of the first players taken in 2020. Kiper reiterated that point soon after Tagovailoa's official announcement.
“Grade wise, he’s the bird-best player in my opinion, but the medical part is something we still don’t know until we get through this draft process,” Kiper said. “He had reasons to go back … but remember, Trevor Lawrence next year is guaranteed to be the No. 1 pick overall and then’s there’s the risk of the next injury.
"Hopefully now, he'll get back to 100 percent from the hip and we never have another injury with Tua.”"

Gil Brandt
Brandt listed Tagovailoa fifth overall and his third-ranked quarterback behind LSU’s signal-caller Joe Burrow and Oregon’s Justin Herbert. Burrow, the reigning Heisman Trophy award winner, ranked first overall. Herbert was slotted fourth, one spot ahead of Tagovailoa.

The executive compared Tagovailoa to New Orleans Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees. He noted that injury concerns impacted the ranking.

LOL, a bunch of 'analysts'.  Experts.  And pre-draft to boot.  Before anyone saw him play NFL games.

So anonymous persons created by a newspaper guy or a hall of fame receiver who actually played the game.

I'll take the HOF guy who played the game, every time.

The last thing I ever want to be accused of is paying attention to Me-O.

The fact that he is in the HOF is just a mark against the HOF, it's not adding any credibility to his statement.

David Culley lol who?

I’ll leave this here: there is a very, very short list of players in the NFL that I’d consider trading the first pick for, and DeShaun Watson is on it.

Watson is acting like a Diva. We'll see if any team bites and trades the farm for him. My prediction is Chicago as Pace and Nagy once again trade the farm to get "their" QB.

James Harden is a very good illustration of the impact of a Superstar NBA player being greater than the impact of any player in an NFL game. In the last two Brooklyn Nets games, vs. Miami and last night at Atlanta, Harden's differential all around play was an enormous reason for Brooklyn coming back to win.

Taking the NBA out of the discussion, I believe that an NFL QB has the greatest impact in any other major team sport in North America. Even more than a dominant Starting Pitcher because the latter isn't available to pitch most games.  An NHL goalie or a Closer Relief Pitcher are also difference makers. But I don't think to the extent that an elite QB can be.

When OF Barry Bonds was at or near his MLB peak, I think he was the closest in many decades to having the impact in a non NBA team sport in North America to an elite NFL QB.
