And I totally agree with the Jury's verdict........

Kentucky man sues employer for throwing him birthday party, and now they owe him $450K

A Kentucky man took his employer to court after they threw him a birthday party he didn't want, and the jurors sided with him.

Now, his employer owes him $450,000.

Absolutely the best verdict. I realize people don't always understand the whole anxiety disorder thing but it's very real. The employer should have let it go.

I avoid large and/or noisy crowds, especially when inside, for the same reason. The only reason I could handle going to Jags games was because the stadium is wide open. If I were to go to an indoor stadium I would probably have a panic attack.

Seems to be that the verdict should have been because he was fired without just cause, not necessarily because of 'emotional distress and mental anxiety'. But good on him regardless. And I'm guessing that manager was fired/demoted with no chance of taking effective legal action.

Without reading the story, did the employer require his attendance at the party or be fired? EDIT: And I should just read the dang thread.

Throw a party in my honor, fine, but don't expect me to come if I've already advised you that I ain't on board.
