If the two weeks everyone is so hyped for Fournette. Still cant show me anything that does not resemble ivory.

So we are trading a Accord for a suped up Civic? It still wont be a sports car. So whats the big deal?

I don't think you know the difference between a Civic and a V10 Dodge Viper.

Nope, just got here.  Big Montana fan and decided to follow this team when they drafted Tyrone Holmes in round 6 last year.  I think he'll have a breakout year for you guys this season.

Love the Message Board.  Seems like a great place to meet people.

Quote:But! But! We have AARON FREAKING COLVIN!!!!! THE GREATEST NICKEL CORNER IN NFL HISTORY! STEAL OF THE CENTURY!

Wouldn't have found him had it not been for the Senor Bowl.  It almost seems unfair that we had such a decisive advantage to the draft year after year.

I know the hype for Fournette at 4 has either ramped up or died down depending on who you listen to, for me, I believe its trending down. I say that because as of right now, we still don't have a credible FB ahead of him. And if you're planning on taking LF at 4, I think you need to have that lead blocker to maximize his strengths.

The FB guys podcast last night said he needs a FB too, but it was because he needs one to show him the right direction to run. Without it he looks like he's wearing a blindfold trying to run between the tackles.

I wouldn't say his vision is bad. But he clearly was used more and looked more comfortable with a lead blocker. If you're investing a #4 pick on him, why mess around and risk that he can be just as successful on a singleback formation? Get yourself a FB who can clear the way, and let him do what he does best.

For me, my biggest concern with him is his shiftiness in tight spaces near the LOS. The teams that really did a great job on him were Alabama and Wisconsin, and both of those teams did a great job of getting penetration and making him "dance" in the backfield.

Now, if we had the Cowboys OL?

Be my guest. Take him. He'll be in full head of steam before you even get a hand on him. In which case its too late and you're going to get run over.

But we all have seen our OL run block...and until I see them open holes consistently, I'm just not as willing to roll the dice on LF at 4.

Well at least he holds the ball high and tight, I don't think fumbles will be an issue.

Guess this account is the one now? Rip HR86 2010-2017.

He also has a fullback so that should help.  I am starting to come around.

Well hey that wasn't hard. The very first play of the video Ivory runs through guys, NFL guys.

Also, man Ivory used to have some burst and wiggle in addition to his exceptional power. I find it hard to believe that a somewhat limited guy like Fournette is going to be better than young Ivory was.
