If you look at the Chiefs game from the AFC Divisional Playoff Game the previous season you will see a lot of this as well.. All the teams know this weakness and exploit it. As much as I enjoy rooting for the guys that play in the center of our line this has been an ongoing issue. They also cannot run block. The best they can do is stalemate a DL, rarely do they move anyone anywhere. Then when the running back hits the area next to him they shed the block and latch onto the RB. Maybe it is time to find other players and give them a shot at the middle? Lol. That’s a good one. My most bitter lamentation about this season is it was the year we could have, and should have, gone deep into the playoffs had the FO addressed the need everyone knew about - for years! We had the run game, the passing game and the defense (mostly) that would have taken us far. All the pieces were in place for greatness, except one. Then, ironically, the team which discharged our GM with malice in his previous job walked in here and completely exposed our deficiency for every following team to exploit. And boy did they.
It’s a bitter pill to swallow but all we can do is keep looking forward to the better times that most assuredly await. |
