Everything passes safety inspections anyways. We all take a chance being on something or around something. We're overdue. Hate to sound so doom and gloom. We all know what's probably coming next. Probably a plane failing midflight and not being able to make an emergency landing would be my guess. "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Yes, and the harbor pilot should have been in command of the vessel, which suggests negligence on his/her part. However, evidence not yet determined or made public could possibly prove otherwise. This investigation involves multiple legal jurisdictions. If criminal negligence is believed to have occurred, authorities may not release much info until the exact charges are filed.

Video: Cargo ship that caused Baltimore bridge collapse crashed at Antwerp port in 2016 The Singaporean-flagged cargo ship, the Dali, that caused the Francis Scott Key Bridge to collapse this week was involved in another crash less than a decade ago. Video obtained by Reuters shows the Dali scraping against a quay in Antwerp, Belgium in 2016. The vessel was built a year earlier. https://www.foxnews.com/live-news/us-bal...03-26-2024

What bothers me, is that, I work in transportation. For a Railroad company. We have an operations call every morning and the FIRST group or topic that comes up is safety.
We preach safety religiously. We reference accidents, current events, derailments, situational awareness being slacked on, etc. What are these maritimers doing? Or, what are these companies doing that are responsible for ships, small barge's, etc? You would think after what happened earlier this week in Baltimore that they would all be on high alert, would excercise a heightened sense of awareness and caution around bridges, but, nope.
