If the Dolphins beat the Falcons are they for real?

#1

My best friend is a die hard Dolphins fan, so I wanted to ask you guys a question and hopefully some Dolphin fans will chime in.  So the Fins are 2-0 and the Falcons have to travel to Miami for a Marquee match up.  If they move to 3-0 do you think these guys can take over the division from Tom Brady and the Patriots?

I just wanted to point out a random stat from a few seasons back when the Lions started out 6-2 and failed to make the playoffs.  #randomstat

Too early to say.  The Patriots right now are at their most vulnerable time.  Too bad the Jets and Bills didn't take advantage of the opportunity.  But this just show you that team can turn around their fortune as fast as the next season or two.  If the team needs 4-5 years in order to be competitive, then somebody is doing something wrong.

It's about drafting the right QB. We didn't in 2011. It appears the Dolphins did. I don't think it's a coincidence that the Vikings and Browns are also winless with Ponder and Weeden at QB.

Dolphins are a little lucky right now, IMO. They haven't exactly played strong teams the first two weeks. You can make a valid argument about the Colts, but I think their true test comes the next three weeks vs. Falcons, @ Saints, and vs. Ravens. We'll see what they're made of then. Even this week, though, they're getting lucky with all the injuries Atlanta suffered last week.

They are close but they need a more potent offense as they cant rely on their new found defense to hold teams under 20 points every game. Brady and the Pats will get rolling soon as they always do during the middle of the season and Miami's tough schedule is going to catch up to them at some point.

I can see them ending up with a winning record and maybe even a wildcard spot but i cant see them taking the division just yet. One and done in the playoff if they make it too.

Dolphins have some talent.  That is for sure.

I don't think Tannehill is an elite talents or anything but he's good enough to win games when the supporting casts are there. And beside, they didn't beat top teams or anything; they beat the Browns and a middle of the pack Colts.

I think they're already forreal. Are they Super Bowl level? No I'm not saying that. But they have some solid pieces, a talented young QB, and Mike Wallace.

People always overreact early in the season.  Unless you are a consensus top teams -- Packers, 49ers, Seahawks, Broncos, Patriots, Texans -- or really bad teams -- Jags, Browns, Vikings, Panthers, and even Oakland -- every other teams are middle of the pact teams, and the seasons can change dramatically.  Don't pencil in the Dolphins as a playoff team yet.  Way too early in the season.
