That is a pretty odd release. He'll be 28 when preseason starts but he's had a pretty solid four year run here recently in his career. Wonder who is going to replace him because they didn't have ANYBODY behind him last year even remotely close to doing what he did for them.

Hopefully Cook doesn't end up in our division. Would hate to see him play for the tacks or tinhorns as a starting caliber back or rotational back with Henry or Pierce. Baltimore would be a good fit for him. Maybe Miami. That is his hometown.

Running backs are so underrated now. SMH. Hopefully he stays in the nfc.

Anyone paying attention knew he was getting cut. He's getting older and already started looking washed last year. He was DEAD LAST in yards gained over expected with almost -200. ETN led that stat with almost +175.

That still doesn't explain the fact that he'll only be 28 years old this year and the fact that they had virtually nothing behind him on the stat sheet. It's an interesting move at this time of the year.

RBs typically hit their wall at 28 or 29 (and hit it hard). It's not that surprising really. Draft em, use them up for 3-4 years on their rookie contract and find a new one. If they're still hot, give em 1 franchise tag for a 5th year and then move on. Signing RBs to a 2nd contract hardly ever works out and history proves that.

RB is a young mans position.

He had almost 1200 yards , 4.4 ypc and 8 TDs last year. He's still a top 10 back in this league and will be big addition to which ever team he goes to if he stays healthy. Pick him up in the 3rd or 4th round of my fantasy team if he's available

Yep, he’s still good.

He's got a lot of miles and naging injuries, so maybe something is still there that they were afraid would come back up and keep him out.

He's good but RB seems to be a low value roster spot and they didn't want to spend the cap space on him.

He also has had I think 3 incidents now from high school to pros with women. He hasn't done much wrong but he does seem to keep surrounding himself with the wrong type of woman. So there could be something unknown at this point.
