The IRS is cracking down on corporate jet usage by wealthy Americans, corporations

IRS to start auditing private jet usage

The IRS on Wednesday announced that it is going to increase audits of corporate jets, part of its sweeping effort to crack down on wealthy Americans and big corporations that aren't paying what they owe.

Beginning in the spring, the IRS will conduct audits of three dozen to four dozen high-income individuals and companies that may be using private jets for personal reasons, but write them off on their taxes as a legitimate business expense in order to reduce their liability.

Maybe we should just eliminate all this crap in the tax code so it wouldn't cost so much to enforce it.

Excellent Point....... but it's too simple for the clowns currently in government. If they did what you are suggesting, well, how could they form Committees to "study" the problem for an untold number of years. Another one to try to formulate an answer for an untold number of years, then to activate the worst possible solution so they could form another one to try and figure what went wrong in the first place. Lather, rinse, repeat....... we all know that's how the current government we have works. They give their pals and and big money donors jobs on these Committees, and since they want to keep the gravy train running and not be out of a job, they never do come up with any real workable solutions to any problem. We all know it's the truth (except for liberals with blinders on) and the end result would be a boondoggle and a massive waste of tax money in the long run.
