Quote:He'll be 100% by training camp.  It's a bone.
That's certainly your opinion.

Not one that I share.  I've broken a number of bones. Things that were routine before the break were uncomfortable and sometimes painful 6 weeks later.

I'm sure he'll receive great treatment and heal better than me, but I can't imagine being "100%" on a football field six weeks after a broken bone. If he's able to play the same and not favor the arm at all in six weeks - he'll be one of toughest kids out there. That's for sure.
Quote:For some reason you left off the part where he is expected back by training camp.
I was smh scrolling until I read this lol

Yup.  Broke my ankle 6 months ago and it still hurts.

The ankle is weight earring. Every step you take puts more pressure on it than anything sample will do for the next 6 weeks

Oh, it is? Thanks for the info, was wondering why on earth it hurt when i stepped on that leg!

If you think he'll feel it in 6 weeks you're lying to yourself.

The average bone heals in 4-6 weeks depending on the severity of the break, and that's not taking into account the treatments and surgery he's going to receive as an NFL player that you probably weren't privy to.

He'll be fine.

There is a MASSIVE difference between an arm and an ankle.  You get that, right?
Maybe this injury will qualify Samples for the Ashe Espy next year.  How many one-armed safeties are there playing in the NFL?

Nowhere did I say he won't feel it, genius.

But recovering from a forearm fracture is significantly easier than an ankle fracture, largely due to the weight-bearing nature of the ankle.

It's not rocket science. He's going to return much sooner than say, Luke Joeckel did.
My only concern is that he'll have to take a couple weeks to get his upper body strength back, luckily he can keep improving his conditioning in the mean time
Quote:Tweet from Ryan O'Halloran (@ryanohalloran) - Freak injury for Sample. At end of play, trying to slap ball from offensive player. #jaguars

Lesson from this, don't be a ball slapper.
Quote:Why is it only Jags that get injured?

Because NFL football is fake and it's all rigged.  All the injuries are scripted by Roger Goddell and co-writer Woody Allen.
Tweet from Ryan O'Halloran (@ryanohalloran) - Caldwell on Sample injury: "It wasn't even a collision. He just banged arms with the ball carrier. Half-speed ... if that." #Jaguars

Should've brought out the bubble wrap. Lesson learned.
Sucks that this happened but still think he's the starting FS by the end of the season.

Maybe you should read the post i was replying to and what it inferred.

Yup, one's an arm and one's an ankle.  How am i doing?  Would you like to enlighten me any more with your infinite wisdom?

Turns out badger was right along!

Small setback but was just a freak occurrence. Better than something lingering like a hamstring. Misses a few practices...

One is weight bearing and one is not.  This makes a huge difference in the recovery process.  Doesn't require infinite wisdom.  Just a little common sense.

I didn't really need an explanation, I was being sarcastic.  You're explaining this to someone who's been recovering from a broken ankle for the last six months and has had many other broken bones.  Shouldn't that make you take a step back before you go all know-it-all on me? Trust me, i get it, quit being so arrogant.
