Quote:I had the same type of mentality until a friend told me to just watch the first episode of GoT. I was super reluctant and critical but came out of it with a blown mind.

Then you should try Spartacus. Much better imo.
Spartacus is purely eye candy, but I enjoyed it for that.

My all time favorite show would be 24

Currently running show would be GOT followed by Better Call Saul

Didn't we do this not so long ago?

I've been living out of a hotel, so that gives you some perspective with about a dozen channels and no DVR.  Yeah, I have wifi and netflix, amazon prime, hbo go, and such... but...

Walking Dead, pro football.

If Saul were in season, I'd catch that.

South Park.

Deadliest Catch.

Can't think of anything else I couldn't do without for a while until I could catch up later.

Fargo really has had a GOAT season, before it aired I didn't think they would ever be able to outdo the first season (which was great also) but somehow they found a way to do so.
I'd like to stump for the magic and wonder that is King of the Hill. If you don't get the comedy in this show, you might not be "getting" life.

At least folks tune in.  More watchable comedy than Mama's Family on the "other channel."
My favorite of 2015 is Fargo.

Past favorites: Mad Men, Sopranos, The Wire.

Not as well recognized as many listed, but the one season they created for Lucy, Daughter of the Devil was absolutely fantastic.
To many good ones to list all time!

Currently one of my favorites is Last Man Standing. If your a PC policeman, stay away. It is hilarious.

Spartacus is more than just eye candy. Good storyline, great acting. The only bad thing was starz ended it too fast.
Comedy - Parks and Recreation, Silicon Valley, Rick & Morty

Drama - Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Battlestar Galactica (remake), Band of Brothers

How could I forget 24!??

Maybe for you. Personally, I couldn't get through the first episode. Boring as hell and that was it for me..

King of the Hill is one of the few shows that had me literally laughing out loud several times every episode. I fell out of the habit of watching the original broadcasts, but it was my go-to choice on Netflix before they pulled it from their lineup.

If you had made it through to the end of the first episode, then you would have been hooked.  That's what did it for me.
Dr. Who. The Tom Baker years...

We literally ran into each other once in London. He was dressed up just like in the series. It was too cool!

I was (and still am) pretty big on the original Star Trek series.

Do you need to watch the Fargo movie to understand the TV series?

I never seen the movie, but from my understanding there's some easter eggs here and there but the show is on it's own.  In fact since the show is in an anthology format, each season is self contained, you can watch season 2 without ever seeing season 1 and get the whole experience (minus a few minor tie ins)
