Quote:Hey you take that back, Bruce is an a grade actor who just happens to be a real life [BAD WORD REMOVED]! He's the second coming of John Wayne and I'm completely serious!

Yipe ki yay!
I wasn't taking a shot at Willis' acting chops as much as I was the fact that he's pretty much been typecast as an action movie guy, and based on MANY of the roles he's taken, he's not exactly picky.  As long as it pays, he'll be there.  He's had a few good roles, but some of the dogs he's been in are painful to watch.  The good news is that in may ways, he's like Keanu Reeves.  He plays pretty much the same part in every movie.
They should have named earth quake or lets find my family in rubble

Yeah, how did Clint Eastwood get dragged into this?

I have always liked Bruce Willis, but just to make my point, there's no question this guy will take any role as long as there's a paycheck involved.

This announcement came out just this week.

Apparently for jagsrule09, there is.  Must've seen Bridges of Madison County.
Damn...and this was on my must-see list.
Quote:Schwarzenegger isn't exactly Sir Laurence Olivier. Neither is someone like Bruce Willis. But, these guys, like the Rock, understand their fans and what the expectations are. I don't begrudge Johnson for taking the path he has. There's tons of money to be made there. Doesn't make his movies anything more than mindless entertainment that serves as a distraction for 90 minutes. Some are better than others, just as some of their movies were better than others for Arnold, Bruce, or Stallone. Heck, Stallone has an Academy Award for Rocky. Not for his acting though. Wink

You could add Vin Diesel and Liam Nesson as of late to that list as well.

Diesel is basically the same character in every movie.  He's another Keanu Reeves.  Neeson has had some serious roles, but he's a guy who has suddenly been typecast.  The funny part is he's Mr. Anti Gun in the same mold as Daniel Craig.    I guess guns are okay when there are a lot of zeroes on the check you're depositing.  Otherwise, not so much.
Why do these actors keep taking these roles in B-quality movies?

Why do these pro-bowler free-agents sign with bottom feeder teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars?

Answer: Money

But I digress...

Quote:Except for Walking Tall and The Rundown both of which i thought were good.
Rundown had it's moments. I liked seeing Ernie Reyes Jr. again.

Walking Tall was just a poor remake to me.

People do things for money?  You've solved everything!
I may go see it.  I haven't seen a good terrible movie in a while.

Went to go see on Friday. It was cheesy as hell, but I found it entertaining. My friend and I were laughing hysterically at the opening scene and a couple others.

I enjoyed the movie for several reasons...

1.  I always enjoy LA and San Francisco getting destroyed and now that the Bay Area has won another Sports Championship, they really did a number of San Francisco..

2.  My favorite scene for it's totally unbelievable premise was the Rock taking a motor boat up a Giant Tsunami wave caused by the Quakes..

3.  Had several laughable scenes..  It also looked good on a big screen.
