QB: Blake Bortles - No reasoning needed.

RB: TJ Yeldon - Drafted to be the workhorse. Has that ability. Will surprise a lot of people.

WR1: Allen Robinson - Was turning into a force before the injury. Will be Bortles' best friend.

WR2: Marqise Lee/Allen Hurns - Both will be used quite a bit as speed compliments for Robinson.

Slot: Julius Thomas - I am going to love seeing how he is used. Will be a matchup nightmare.

TE: Marcedes Lewis - I essentially have us in 2 TE formations a lot but Thomas will be lined up wide.

LT: Luke Joeckel - Needs to show a lot of improvement.

LG: Zane Beadles - Temporary. Cann will be a key building block moving forward at LG.

OC: Stefen Wisniewski - This one was tough. Will be interested to see how Bowanko improves as far as functional strength.

RG: Brandon Linder - No reasoning needed.

RT: Jeremy Parnell - A guy I'm curious to see. Showed flashes but so inconsistent.

LEO: Chris Clemons - Would love to see Branch take that next step, but slotting Clemons here for now.

DT: Michael Bennett - I believe he becomes a terror relatively quickly. A rotation of him and Marks will be crucial moving forward.

NT: Roy Miller - Steady starter. Not spectacular.

DE: Jared Odrick - Will create havoc. Love the rotation here with Odrick, Alualu, and Davis.

SLB: Dan Skuta - Doesn't get enough credit but not spectacular either.

MLB: Paul Posluszny - Truthfully, would love Mychal Kendricks but I think Jags ride Posluszny for one more year.

WLB: Telvin Smith - No reasoning needed:

CB1: Demetrius McCray - Came along nicely last year. Hopefully continues to improve.

CB2: Davon House - I still say Gratz may take that next step but House was signed to be the guy to start the year.

Nick: Aaron Colvin - Still has room for improvement but looking like a steal.

FS: James Sample - I think he becomes the guy sooner rather than later.

Quote:WR2: Marqise Lee/Allen Hurns - Both will be used quite a bit as speed compliments for Robinson.
There is nothing fast about Hurns. He's not a burner, but he can separate.

My list:

QB - Bortles. This team is his, for better or worse.

RB - Yeldon. Has the potential to be a workhorse, which is something Gerhart and Robinson seem to lack.

WR - Robinson. Looked like Keenan McCardell out there at times before his injury.

WR - Lee. Could be the "Lightning" in Thunder & Lightning 2.0.

TE - Thomas. Deadly weapon who can line up and create mismatches all over the place.

TE - Lewis. Shifts to an inline blocking role that suits him more.

LT - Joeckel. He needs to take a few steps forward this year, but he's the best we have.

LG - Cann. Like Mike Brewster before him, Zane Beadles will play his way out of a starting job, though he should stick on the roster.

C - Bowanko. Wisniewski may eventually take this job, but recovery from his torn labrum might have the team taking it easy with him early on.

RG - Linder. Duh.

RT - Parnell. Signed to lock down this trouble spot for several years.

5T - Odrick. Alualu might see significant time here if Odrick moves inside to cover for a recovering Marks for a short while.

DT - Marks. The team's best defensive lineman over the last couple of years; Odrick will play here if Marks misses time.

NT - Miller. Solid nose tackle who consistently plays well enough against the run.

LEO - Clemons. This is, imo, a position that could see an early-season change with Ryan Davis taking over.

OTTO - Skuta. Filling the role he was signed to.

MLB - Poz. Has definitely lost a step and isn't the ideal MLB for Bradley's defense, but he's the best we've got and is still a solid two-down thumper.

WLB - Smith. Big find late in the draft last year with the potential to start for years to come (assuming he isn't snapped in two).

CB - McCray. Came on in a big way last season.

CB - House. Signed to take one of the starting jobs, and it'll be a huge upset if Colvin or (shudder) Gratz takes this job.

Nickel - Colvin. If he's as good as advertised in year two, the cornerback position has suddenly become a huge strength for this team.

FS - Brown. Decent, if unspectacular, player who provides an immediate upgrade over Evans. Sample could take this job as the year goes on.

SS - Cyprien. Lots of pressure on him to rebound from an inconsistent sophomore campaign.

K - Scobee. He might decide to make PATs really interesting by attempting them with a 3-wood.

P - Anger. The third-round Gene Smith pedigree has some people convinced that he's the worst punter in the game. Not true.

LS - Tinker. No reason to believe he'd lose the job this year.

KR - D. Robinson. Caldwell's already said that he'll get first crack at this role.

PR - Doss. Good size and quickness, two huge pluses in a role that doesn't necessarily require elite speed. If Doss doesn't make the team, it'll probably be because Rashad Greene beats him for this role.

By game 3...

QB: Bortles ...no brainer.

RB: Yeldon ...2nd round RBs don't sit the bench.

WR: Robinson ...best on team.

WR: Lee ...upside, will be pushed by Hurns.

Slot: Greene ...reminds me of McCardell.

TE: Thomas ...Blake's new best friend.

LT: Joeckel ...no worthy challenger today.

LG: Cann ...he will edge out an inconsistent and overpaid Beadles.

OC: Wisniewski ...a veteran presence with knowledge of the system.

RG: Linder ...may even take a step to pro bowl level this year.

RT: Parnell ...paid well to start and perform.

LEO: Branch ...he'll elevate game knowing Fowler in 2016 and a contract year.

DT: Marks ...ahead of schedule, a lock by game 3.

NT: Miller ...a solid nose player and extended last year.

DE: Odrick ...a significantly more versatile player than Alualu (or ex-Bryant).

Otto: Skuta ...a weak spot in my mind with little competition to challenge.

MLB: Posluszny ...better than often given credit.

WLB: Smith ...a playmaker sorely needed on this defense.

CB: McCray ...played well thus far.

CB: House ...Gratz will challenge him but giving slight early nod to Davon..

NB: Colvin ...another year recovered; I think he could be best in secondary.

SS: Cyprien ...Evans and Loston won't challenge, but needs to step up game.

FS: Sample ...he'll win job by game 3 over Brown.

K: Scobee ...no challenger on roster.

P: Anger ...see above.

KR: Robinson ...takes over Todman's role.

PR: Doss ...Sanders couldn't evade a snail last year.

Very solid and I agree.

I think we still lack a big-play threat on offense which is a problem.
What's really notable about these prospective starting lineups is the fact that we have probably upgraded 8 or 9 starting positions!

That's a lot of talent to add in one offseason. Add to that the probable improvement in players who were rookies last year, and this team is ready for liftoff.

It's been more than just said. Caldwell stated that there won't be a FB. That said, he did mention 2-back sets which is why I forsee a package with Marcedes at TE along with Gerhart and Yeldon in the backfield.

The Offensive line should improve with Doug Marrone but it might take until mid season before they truly gel together to be average or above hopefully they adapt quicker as it directly effects the offense more than anything else could including QB.   The quicker the Oline becomes above average the quicker everything falls into place for this team.

The starting PR spot is tough to decide on. They may just have "open tryouts" during the season with Ace Sanders and Rashad Greene. Whoever performs better wins the position for our playoff run Smile
I wonder what the starting lineup will look like by the end of the season..

Cann, Sample, Greene and Colvin could all be starters by then. And there will be someone who loses their place unexpectedly (through injury or disappointing performances). So players like Bowanko and Pasztor could return..
