I saw Bortles connected on a deep touchdown pass to Benn today in practice. If he can work some of that magic in games he may be on the roster. Especially with the uncertainty that Lee will stay on the field.
Really nothing to lose by seeing what he has to offer.
We have a talented group of young receivers, adding another to the mix certainly can't hurt. He never really caught on in Tampa Bay but then again, he didn't have much to work with as far as QB talent was concerend.
Apparently Arrelious Benn is currently ranked at the No. 4 WR on the newly issued depth chart ahead of Rashad Greene. Heck it seems that Tony Washington is creeping ahead of Greene on the depth chart.
I guess we really have to see what happens in the preseason games to find out who makes this roster.
Question? Can the Jags stash Rashad Greene on the Practice Squad or will he get claimed on another teams roster?

Benn is actually ranked 3rd on the depth chart, ahead of Marqise Lee.
Unless Greene looks absolutely terrible throughout the preseason, I'd assume he'd at least get a short term look from some other team if he was placed on the practice squad.
He has a valid shot but like Lee I think the injury bug is upon him, but what worries me the most about him is the constant reoccurring head injuries that take him out for weeks at a time. I was really shocked that they took a chance on him to be honest, and I dont think he'll make the final cut.

With Benn and Lee having such an injury-riddled past, there's a thought toward keeping both of them so that hopefully you always have one of the two active while the other is resting an injury.
Does Been at least provide as much as Cecil Shorts did and perhaps more? If so, this was a really good pick up.
He's got good size and speed and has worked his way up the depth chart. Now we need to see Benn take advantage of the preseason opportunities.

Incorrect.
Benn is behind Robinson at possession. That side is Robinson, Benn, Greene
Depth on the other side is Hurns, Lee, Doss
I'm not buying the official depth chart silos as being accurate. I see them using the chart as more of a way to name our best WRs first. At least in 3 WR sets they see Lee as the split-end with Benn backing him up for that role.
Indeed. Doss is on his way out it seems. If Greene wins PR job, which I think he will, why keep Doss? As a gunner and to relieve Greene here n there on returns? That's not worth a spot, in my view.

This ^. Just look at our drafts. Most of the home-runs came from later round guys. The round where players are taken means more to the Salary Cap than to their actual talent or ceiling. He could come in and surprise us. That just makes our WR core that much stronger. I'm ok with that!
GO JAGS!!
I think the Jags have a first round curse. No one has ever been pro bowl dominant world beaters drafted in the first after 2000. How do you miss on a first that many years in a row. We will see on Fowler of course, but dude, he didn't even get to the preseason.
