The 5th receiver spot will most likely be a PR competition.  If Doss is healthy I see him staying as I think he's superior to Ace in that role.

Pretty much.
Ace let this team down last year. We are in the process of trying to rebuild this team and not be the laughing stock of the NFL, and Ace goes and gets himself a 4 week suspension at the beginning of the season for drugs. Blackmon 2.0. This team has lost too many receivers over the years to drugs. And for Ace to follow suit is an indication that he was thinking about himself and not how he could help the team. We have guys out there recovering from serious injuries that would die to be out on the field and try to elevate their team in some way. Others, instead of hitting the gym, they're hitting the bong. Unacceptable. Not when you have million dollar contracts, and your team is counting on you to be there. Since his suspension, I haven't seen much production. He obviously has not shown the coaching staff that he should be starting. Drug problems + mediocrity = next man up.
I think Ace is safe. Its Doss, Benn, Walters, Washington, and possibly Copeland that are in trouble.

I wasn't sure how to read your post.  Are you saying we will keep 7+ WRs?

The ship has sailed on Blackmon. Caldwell practically confirmed it when he said "we picked two WR's for a reason". It was featured in a PFT entry a couple days ago.

We won't keep 7 WR's. Ace still has a chance but it'll be a battle. Hopefully he recaptures some of that return ability because this team could use all the help it can get there.
If we keep five receivers, he's part of a melee for the fifth spot. If we keep six, he probably makes the team.

After getting suspended the first 4 games of the season, he rewarded the team by screwing up the 1 job the team counted on him to do. When your biggest "highlight" of the season is a muffed punt, it's going to be hard to overcome that.

Oh no he's on to my evil plan I better create another pointless poll huh?

Haters going to hate I guess.

That's my thoughts as well. Ace Sanders is a veteran now, and when your top four are presumably three sophomores and a rookie, I'll take Sanders who had a productive year over Streeter, Copeland, or Tandon Doss who haven't done squat in the League. A promising rookie campaign and a disappointing sophomore campaign, I'll let the third year be the deciding factor.

From what I have read, the WR's drafted after round 3 are pretty much development players and/or possible special teams contributors (jars on the shelf).  At this point, to say that Ace Sanders is on his way out is way too premature (possibly a personal problem for some posters here).  In my mind, he is above Greene on your "depth chart" at this point in time.  Just because a guy is drafted in the fourth round it doesn't mean that he is "automatically" placed on the roster.  Also, read some of the articles regarding Caldwell's philosophy.

I'll wait until mini-camps and training camp plays out before I make a call.
I'd like to see Ace get some action in the slot. I remember his rookie season he did a good job on offense. I think he broke the record for most receptions by a Jags rookie. I think Ace still has potential as a WR on offense. I'll take him over Tandon Doss.

My apologies. I mean we will keep Streeter and Sterling probably on the PS. And idk about Blackmon. I know what Caldwell said but its like eh...
We have alot of depth at the WR position. Ace didnt do himself any favors by getting suspended then being a liability on the field when he came back. More than likely he's probably gone

This is the pot calling the kettle black considering you are the one who created this hating thread on Ace.

It's all fun and games when you are the one calling others out. Not so much fun when someone turns it back on you.
I said this a few weeks ago now - and it is especially true once we drafted Rashad Greene...

Ace is as good as gone.

You consider stating a person is about to be cut from a team as hate, hmm I guess I can see that.  On that mind set you think the Jaguars GM or franchise hate the players they cut?

I dont think its about like or dislike its a job, and its all about performance.

However calling out other fans in a thread in a hateful manner I thought was against the rules but somehow its okay if your are an admin or mod?

Shouldnt be lead by example?

Stating that you make stupid threads isn't a violation of the COC any more than you expressing negative opinions about players.

You probably should have considered the fact that negative opinions can hurt peoples feeling before you start a thread counting down the days to someone losing their job.

In case you didn't realize, player are people too.

I don't know why you think you deserve better treatment than you show others.

Today Bradley heaped praise on Ace and his efforts thus far in the voluntary workouts.

"he's really stacked up some good days."

"We've really took notice of him as a staff."

Sounds like he knows he's got his work cut out for him to stick around.

I may be ignorant, but what exactly could ace have done to impress gus? Show up in good shape? I don't think they're allowed to practice or throw yet so I'm not sure what he's talking about.
