Mariota is not a risk at all.

Big risks. But Webster is a desperate man. Would've loved to see Beckham in teal, though. Hope Mariota sets the franchise back five years. Best case scenario: He flashes a little like a poor man's Kaepernick and lulls the Titans into keeping Webster as GM and passing on the next few draft classes' top QBs. Worst case: he becomes poor man's Aaron Rodgers.

I'm higher on Mariota than most people. I think he's very accurate and smart. He's in a good spot in that he can sit behind Meatybooger for a while, and then Whisenhunt can pull him out of the bag mid-season when his job is on the line. If he flashes, it saves Whisenhunt's job.

Kenny Britt all over again, except Britt has more power and isn't AS big of an idiot

Why would anybody think Mariota is a risk? He does not carry any red flags and was expected to be the second overall pick for months.

So? What does that have to do with Marcus Mariota?

Every single one of them came from the same system that created Mariota, with Harrington and Smith being top 5 picks. Every single one of them bombed in the NFL. I know Mariota isn't those guys, but history certainly isn't on his side.

Didn't mariota not have to do any audibles or anyhting in college, he just got the play looked at the D presnap and went to whatever they gave them?

Why do you say he is not a risk at all, especially being drafted second overall?

Quote:Why would anybody think Mariota is a risk? He does not carry any red flags and was expected to be the second overall pick for months. It's not all about off-field risk, JDub. Mariota's squeaky-clean off the field, but on it, he's a system QB who was never asked to do too much. Taking system QBs who've never played in a pro offense with the second overall pick is a huge risk.
Green-Beckham is all kinds of disaster waiting to happen. I give him two years before he slaps a woman down a flight of stairs (again) and gets himself a one-way ticket to the sales room at the local Honda dealer.
All told, I couldn't be happier with Tennessee's draft right now

I have a feeling MM is going to be an epic bust in the NFL.

Do you mean Gabbert bad?
Epic bust is a strong prediction.

I dunno if he will be Gabbert bad. I just have a hunch. Not that it means much, but Prisco said he has heard multiple GM's say MM will be out of the league in 4 years.
We shall see. Hate to root against the guy, but the team that drafted him makes that impossible.

Bortles sat behind Henne for several games, and he was arguably a little more pro-ready than Mariota.
