and some people are gonna lose their minds when it happens...I won't be one of them.

the ACL might scare teams but I don't think it's got DC rattled at all and I think people's pre-occupation with is edge rusher is blinding them to how this player fits what we want to do..

Sure you can get a RB later but NOT one like this guy.  Both Gordon and Coleman are good backs but when I watch Gurley, it's just not the same.  My eyes see an ELITE back in Gurley.  He's like a bigger Fred Taylor/Peterson combo and runs like he OWNS the lawn.  His whole game is solid; blocking, catching, etc.

Now do this mentally:

Add an elite edge rusher to the team [ for arguments sake, say it's Reggie White] -- what's the impact?  Primarily improves the defense.

Now add an elite runner to the team [ Say LT or AP in their prime ] -- what's the impact?  Whole team realizes improvement via increased TOP, a defense that sees less snaps, Play-action, etc.

You have to take the player that's going to make you a better overall football team here...I hear the arguments for Williams, Cooper, and Fowler but tell me--would you rather have one of them OR 20-25 carries from Todd Gurley on a weekly basis?

To me, it's Gurley all day and two-times everyday after...

I think Gurley could be the pick, but only if Dave trades down.

I dunno at #3 has to be an impact player, we shouldn't be drafting this high again for a LONG time if it all works out. Honestly I think  taking a RB that high is a heavy price to pay but I'll defer until we see him in action. That high the expectation is going to be pretty daunting to justify a RB. I'm talking he has to be a Adrian Peterson level for a long time.

I'd rather we find our pass rusher or a legit every down threat at WR.

Dave will draft the best available player.

I for one would be highly disappointed if they drafted a running back with a torn ACL at #3 overall when they have shoelace on the roster whom didnt do that bad last year and now the Oline is better... i am not against drafting a RB but to take one in the first round seems silly when they have so many huge needs that are bigger than HB.

I would not be sad if they drafted Williams, Fowler, Cooper, heck even White would be awesome or Vic Beasley ( a bit high but still a good edge rusher) or even LT Andrus Peat (which I dont think is a reach at #3) i could live with since Luke has been a bit of a disapointment at LT but not Todd he's over rated...
Not at 3.
At 3, we arent looking at a RB. It all depends on what Tennessee does at 2.

This could be the reason all the chatter about ATL moving up and Jags moving down to 8. I would take him at 8

I'm a big Gurley fan and would love to see the Jags grab him with their pick, but I don't think they do it.

If the Browns move up and we got both their firsts.....

Gurley at 12

Perriman at 19

best pass rusher at the top of round 2?

Preston Smith maybe? Maybe Shane Ray slips to the 2nd?

Only if we trade down....or back in to the first
I don't expect it to happen at 3, but I guess I wouldn't be ticked off if they did it.

Really over other guys that might still be there that are a bigger need like CB Trae Waynes, LT Andrus Peat, heck I would even draft SS Landon Collins before taking Todd I dont see Todd even going in the first round..

Exactly.  If DC picks Gurley at #3, we can officially be concerned that he's getting his advice from Gene Smith.
Not unless Vic Ketchman was named GM

Every year the same thing happens "please get Tren Richardson" "I want Spiller!!" "Mark Ingram please"

There is no way in hell Caldwell is stupid enough to grab Gurley (who just had a torn ACL) or any RB at 3.

L. Bell 2nd round

F.Gore 3rd round

D. Murray 3rd round

L. McCoy 2nd round

J. Forsett 7th round

E. Lacy 2nd round

A. Foster undrafted

J. Hill 2nd round

J. Charles 3rd round

L. Miller 4th round
When Vic was here, he played this game every year with first round running backs. Remember Beanie Wells?

We've never had an explosive passing offense here. So it is as if a segment of the fans here do not understand that it is almost essential in the NFL today. Seattle is the lone exception.
I want Gurley but not at 3. SDR is right, we've never had a passing offense that is anywhere even close to Indy, GB, NE, Den. We kind of expect Jax to not have that and just run the ball.
Select Gurley @ #12, rest him and tank the year.  Bring in Nick Chubb or Ezekiel Elliott in 2016 and we're set at RB for the next 10 years.
