Quote:I'm surprised we've not been linked with him sooner. Sounds like a great mentor for our young receivers.

As he was for cordarelle patterson
Why all the love for Greg Jennings is it soley based on the name, because I didnt see that same love for a bigger name Wes Welker?

Would be good to have this guy mentor the young talent if anything else.

I disagree with Greg Jennings signing as a Jaguar especially on the basis of a mentor.  I think Allen Hurns already played as good as Jennings last year in his rookie year, and to bring in a guy at the end of his career for the sole purpose of hoping he'll be another players coach with no experince doesnt make sense to me.  Why take up a roster spot on the field for that.  It is the same reason people passed on Wes Welker.

I think its more likely that GM Dave Caldwell will draft Amari Cooper at 3rd overall instead of a wing and a prayer move like signing a has been Jennings.

We get it after about 20 posts.  You don't like Jennings.
That is hilarious!

I dont have anything against the guy personally but I do think its a bad move.

Yeah, after cutting and pasting the same response multiple times, we get it.
In my defense a couple of them were different threads that got joined into this one.

Is there a way to delete a post?

Seems like a solid move to me. I like the idea of going WR at 3 in the draft but I feel like Caldwell doesn't want to do that. This draft should be about defense IMO. We did just draft two WRs in the second last year and found another gem. Jennings would play the Shorts role. A starter but his playing time wouldn't hinder the development of the other players. We can move on from him in a year or two and draft his replacement then.

Sorry you disagree, but that's something the staff saw as a mistake last year (not having a veteran WR) and would like to change this year by bringing one in for that very purpose.

Exactly.  Adding another rookie to the group isn't going to make the unit better.  There needs to be some veteran presence.
Sign him, don't sign him. I'm indifferent to it. I hope the o line has been fixed more so than adding any more wide receivers.

Im on board with cooper at 3. But if we can get jennings and draft Williams 3rd overall......we gonna be just fine this year!
what about williams/fowler and lockett/dorsett?

We have more pressing needs in the draft than taking another WR as a high priority. Getting Jennings brings experience to a WR core lacking it and helps stabilize the group. We don't need Cooper or White at #3. That to me wouldn't be wise. If we pick at #3 and don't trade back, we have to take one of the pass rushers. I think getting Jennings would be a great move.

We agree on something, finally. Caldwell acknowledged what a lot of us figured out from last year: we relied way too much on rookies to come in and produce right away. Jennings would be an ideal veteran addition. He played with horrible qbs until teddy took over last year, then showed improvement. He's only 31. And he's a quality individual. Why would anybody not want him in the locker room? He's kind of the last good option left TBH.
And why would people really want cooper that much? The two guys they took last year in round 2 were highly touted. On top of that, Hurns was like found money. Cooper isn't going to be Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, or Larry Fitzgerald. those guys are beasts (6 foot 3, 220 pound guys with freakish speed). Cooper is 6-1 at best. He isn't a big-body guy. I wouldn't touch a guy who doesn't fit that mold in the top 10.

Davon House is on board.

Signed,

Odell Beckham Jr

Also his NFL comp is Marvin Harrison, another "small WR". He seemed to have a decent career.

But there's a reason those guys fall. A combination of size and speed is preferred above all else. Always has been, always will be.

Doesn't mean that's always the right decision either though.
