He's allowed 13 quarterback hurries through eight games - Rotoworld Nov 1 2014
------------------------
He's not the worst starting LT in the league and since he did play RT most of his rookie year before playing LT and being injured you could kind of see last season as a rookie year.
Its still too early to say he's a bust thats for sure. If he gains the weight and trains he might improve enough to prove everyone wrong about him.

No, no, that simply can't be true.
He gives up nearly a dozen hurries on any single play.
That math just doesn't seem to add up.

Now all he needs to add is about 15lbs of nasty/meanness. He needs to play angrier.

I dont think he has it. 2 mores years i think hes out of the league

i'd love to be proved wrong. This is the prove it year for him.. He either stays as average as he's been or turns it around

........what?
so you think he is average, yet you think he will be out of the league in 2 years? hilarious.

super original joke. you got me.... regardless, even below average tackles still last a long time in this league. look at guy whimper.

So everyone is saying he needs to get better and that this is a prove it year, but then they're defending the guy? After reading some of these posts I'm left thinking that he's the best LT in the game

Saying he needs to get better and explaining why he struggled last year isn't defending anything. It's stating fact. That has been backed up by his own comments in interviews where he's talking about how he wasn't able to bulk up and get stronger last off season because he was rehabilitating an ankle injury. Is pointing that out as a potential reason why he struggled somehow translating into him being the best LT in the game in your head?

Luke The Joke Joeckel sucked last year. There's no arguing that and September is coming up quick, fast, and a hurry, and he'll have to prove his worth as a 2nd pick in the NFL draft. I think the whole left side of the line is trash and will continue to get the quarterback killed. The Joke doesn't have the desire to finish off ends and backers and that all speaks to his mental approach to the game. Dont think you can gain 10-15 pounds in that area either. Unfortunately we have no alternative so he'll have this year to prove himself again.

Cool story.

What I do know is that when someone tries to be clever with nicknames, and they don't have the mental capacity to BE clever, posts like yours are the end result.
We get it. You're mad. Probably not even a Jag fan, but a troll who is just desperately seeking attention.

Quote:I'm holding out hope that makes the difference needed. Perhaps it's not fair but when we selected him at #2 I was expecting the next Tony Boselli.
Whether that is fair or not, at the very least he has not met expectations of a #2 pick.

If he's able to pack on some good weight while improving his upper body strength I think he has a chance to validate that 2nd overall selection. Luke's technique and athleticism are great, he simply lacks the strength required to stop an effective bull/power rush. Due to his lack of strength it puts him in a spot where he has to quickly anchor (cheat) to compensate for his lack of strength to protect against the bull, because he's always thinking "bull rush" it naturally puts him at a disadvantage against the speed rush, anchor to quickly and get beat by speed or don't anchor soon enough and get beat by strength, pick your poison. The added weight and strength should give him physical traits/abilities required to play the LT position at a high level, he'll be confident enough to know his strength/athleticism/technique should negate both the power & speed rush.

With the use of a double negative and two negatives equal a positive.....you DO act like SOMETHING?

It's the same problem Lane Johnson had coming out of Oklahoma and is one of the reasons he struggled as a rookie, he got bigger & stronger (the PED's certainly helped) over the 2014 off-season and was a completely different player last season. Luke rehabbed a broken ankle his first off-season and never had a chance to pack on the weight/strength required to play the LT at a high level because of it, I'm expecting a huge leap from him this year. Again, his technique and athleticism are off the charts, he just needs the added weight and strength.
