Hah, this is like the 5th year in a row the 49ers have coveted the top WR in the draft and are willing to pay a ransom to move up...only not to actually do so. They are the boy crying wolf...errr WR...until further notice to me.

If this is true 9ers have 15th pick and we'd look like a prime candidate for the trade.
Thoughts?
15th spot doesn't really seem like a great place to draft. The top talent will be gone and the value picks are towards the end of rd 1.
If the jaguars think someone like Shane ray might slide and Williams is gone at 3, might be OK.
Between now and draft day, every team will be rumored to want to trade up for every player.

15th spot is a prime spot if the team liked Gregory. But otherwise, unless we are getting a massively great deal, I agree...I wouldn't want to drop that far back.

Actually, 15 is the right spot to take Green-Beckham, the best receiver in the draft.

What if getting the 15th pick is the result of two trades back?
What if we started with:
1 pick in the 1st
1 pick in the 2nd
1 pick in the 3rd
1 pick in the 4th
1 pick in the 5th
1 pick in the 6th
1 pick in the 7th
Traded down twice
Once to 6 (NYJ) for their first and second round picks.
Per the trade value chart
3rd pick overall=2200 points
6th pick overall=1600
37th pick overall=530
70 points remaining (roughly a 4th round pick)
Then trade from 6 (1600) to the 49ers spot qt 15
15 overall (1050)
their 2nd round pick (450)
100 points remaining ( one late 3) .
That would leave the team with
1 pick in the first (15)
THREE (3) picks in the second (36, 37, 46)
and two, maybe three picks in the third (67, 70, 79)
We'd start with 7 picks overall, and conducting these two trades, we'd have up to seven picks in the top 80, to say nothing of the remaining picks from rounds 4-7.
This is conservatively speaking...just based upon the trade value chart.
This wouldn't factor in any increase based on a competitive bidding war for #3.
Rumor report: frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt

This from the same guy who said Preston Smith can't rush like M. Bennett...keep up the good work!
9 sacks senior year vs 6.5 whole career
15 is a prime spot for todd gurley
No thanks! Unless your giving us atleast two first round picks, 2 day 2 picks and multiple day 3 picks. The 49ers get the finger and a quick hang up on the phone on draft day......if it was me. Cooper is too good to just give away for draft picks. 49ers only have 1 first rounder anyway. Which means what i stated above may even need to be bigger!

The only player I would be happy with trading that far down
Why would you give such a talented receiver to a quarterback that looks once if no one is open takes off running?
Quote:crapernick
Yeah. Too bad he hasn't seemed to become as proficient as he could be in that area, because it would likely translate into better numbers.

That's not that bold to say imo. IF he keeps clean I can absolutely see him having the best career out of the other top 3. He has an incredibly high ceiling but he has to stay clean. I really wouldn't mind the jags taking him at 36 but at 15 is just way too risky for my liking.
Having DGB and Julius in the red zone would almost be unfair.
