Quote:Judging this game, i wouldn't even spend a draft pick on him. It was that bad. Maybe he has better games. For his sake i hope so. Yikes.

I agree. Might be one of the worst tackling performances I have ever seen. For some analyst on cbs to say "he has a violent mentality" is just ridiculous and that guy should be unemployed immediately. Makes Josh Evans look like an all-pro in this game. I will say this is the only game I've seen of him.

Even on his interception he got beat. Just got lucky his teammate hit the qb. Just bad.
Quote:Aggressive tackler? That's the farthest thing Randall is. He's extremely soft and looks completely scared to hit somebody. Below average tackler imo. He also got completely turned around and got beat multiple times in the game vs Oregon state. Looks like a gerod Holliman clone.

Watch this game and I guarantee you won't feel the same way about him.

Holliman clone? No

Holliman may not be a great tackler like him but at least he gets picks, 14 to 3, give me the ballhawk

Holliman clone in the sense they are extremely timid to tackle and lay a hit and are just plain bad. I should've clarified. My bad.
Are there any 2nd round cb converts out there? I have seen some mocks having P.J. Williams in the second and Jalen Collins. Any guys that you could convert in the second? I really haven't watched corners.

Byron jones from UCONN is a guy to keep an eye on. He killed it at the combine and his tape is impressive as well. Only problem will be if he last until pick 36.

Randall basically is a convert candidate. He played mostly CB throughout his career, and as you saw in that cutup if you watched it, what he was playing was nowhere near a single high safety role. Along with him, Byron Jones, Ifo, and Rowe are the main FS convert candidates...but Jones is taking his name out of that since he is also being viewed as one of the elite corners in this draft too. I don't think he'll get converted wherever he lands.

Jones is a little bit undersized (5'10) and that could turn some teams off on him. He was also a safety before they switched him to corner. Just wouldn't surprise me at all if teams were looking at him back as a safety. If he's there in the second then it's a no brainer to pick him at 36.

Are we thinking of the same Jones? He's 6'1".

He isn't that small. And I agree I would love him with pick 36 if he's there I've been saying that since Ethan Hammerman wrote him up post combine. Would hate it if we took any non Gurley RB at 36 over him especially. It's just not very NFL like to have guys switch positions when they are really good at the one they currently play at.

Wow. That's my bad. No clue where I got that then. I guess I just made up a reason for him to slip.

Pick 36 will be the most interesting pick for the jags imo. We could go a number of different ways.
Quote:Prewitt is a perfect balance when it comes to the safety position. Aggressive hitter and good ball skills..bbut due to the extreme balance, his NFL Center field skill is a bit lacking in terms of what we need (Earl Thomas). That being said, I still think he can play the FS position at this level. He gained weight steadily throughout his college career. Freshman year, it was said around college that he was possibly the fastest player on the team. His sliding could work out well for us

Senquez Golson and Prewitt came in as the same class and Golson was always faster than Prewitt...The Moore twins and Kailo are probably the fastest currently.

Also on that team (Prewitt's Freshman year) was Jeff Scott and although they weren't there for long Tobias Singleton and Snoop Brassell were speed demons compared to Cody.  Moncrief was also sneaky fast...once again there was a reason Cody was almost moved to LB his Soph year.

Cody has never been fast its been his instincts and usually good angles he takes that gets him ints...once Cody gets beat its usually done...he just doesn't have the make up speed.  If you can link me to 2 ints where he was beat and caught up i'll eat some crow.  But what you want is Golson speed on that Alabama pick where he was 10 yards off from the intented receiver and broke off his guy to make the int in the back of the endzone.  By the way thats Prewitt getting beat by the TE deep....

Loons like the Jags coaches are in attendance for Bryon Jones workout.

Byron Jones is a very interesting prospect for our FS position. Apparently ran a sub 4.4 at his pro day.

Obviously hes stupid athletically.

I would just worry about his physicality making a tackle tho.

He is def being looked at for FS if we draft him, the fact that he played Safety before helps, we will see how this plays out
I like this about Jones:

"Extremely smart and instinctive on the field."

I wonder why the Vikings (Zimmer) were working him out. They seem pretty settled with Harrison Smith at FS...

Well he is a CB after all.
This Damatious Randall that some people are hyping up is undraftable IMO.  Geez he looks bad.  This is turning out to be a dreadful class for Safeties.

Maybe that's how we see him too ?
