Cleveland is such a mess. This just adds to the comedy.
What the Falcons did clearly had no impact, but it's pretty pathetic that they'd pull a stunt like piping in crowd noise.
Sounds like both teams are going to face pretty hefty penalties. If they lose draft picks, that will certainly make things interesting.

Browns have like 11 draft picks, so I don't think losing 2-3 picks will dramatically damage them. Then again, they could have 30 draft picks and still only get 3 good players, so maybe it will hurt them more than I think.

It's realistically possible that one or more draft picks that are taken away from the Falcons and Browns will be from the 2016 Draft instead of the 2015 Draft. The NFL already announced the Draft Order for the 2015 Draft, including the full list of Compensatory picks. Hence, if draft picks are taken away from these teams in 2015, additional Compensatory picks would have to be added to get the Draft back to the 254 pick level.

Give the Browns picks to one AFC team (preferably the Jags) and the Falcons picks to one NFC team (preferably the Lions). Problem solved!

The brownies won't miss the pick. If anything it might save them a headache or two.

The Browns misses in the draft have been nearly as bad as Jacksonvilles during the Shack/Gene era. So taking away draft picks from them is a slap on the hand

I don't think Atlanta should lose draft picks. What was Indy's penalty when they piped in crowd noise?

Did the NFL ever actually investigate Indy for that?

Two first round bust QBs in the last three draft, sandwiching the Trent Richardson pick 3rd overall?
Justin Gilbert with major questions surrounding him, too?

If it turns out that the Falcons and Browns lose a combined 3 or more picks in the 2015 Draft, I see a realistic scenario in which the Jaguars would get a late 7th Round Compensatory pick. There have been seasons in which the teams with the worst records the previous season getting the final Compensatory picks.

Dear lord I would love it if we some how received more draft picks

Cleveland should just trade their picks for next year to us to move up and get Mariota. Goodell can't take what they don't have.

I think the League's reaction to this just reinforces a concept that most people know, but maybe don't put into words. Sports Leagues cannot suffer doubt to be cast on the competitiveness of their games, they just can't. It's why Players gambling is always dealt with so very harshly from the League and why the NFL immediately went after the underinflated ball issue in New England. Fans can handle dirty players and dirty play, but they will turn away for good if they feel like their team isn't going to get a fair shot.
