If he doesn't work out, we can cut him and won't owe him anything.

In reality,  almost every other team underestimated the potential of Justin Forsett as well.

It's not like forsett is young anyways, I'm fine with drafting one of these rbs
He'll be our preseason starter..
Big back.  Will make an interesting competition with Gerhart for that role.

Love this pick-up.

Good pick up.

the team that picks up a player off the waiver system isn't said team responsible for his previous contract?

That's correct.

However,  the team that claims a player on waivers isn't charged for the original signing bonus on their salary cap.    That responsibility still goes to the team that signed the player to the original contract,  even though another team claimed the player off waivers.
Meh. Pierce and Gerhart will probably be battling for the same roster spot.
Has everyone here forgotten about Pierce's 2.9ypc as the lead back in 2013 and 3.9ypc (good enough to get him benched) behind Baltimore's stellar offensive line last year? He's got a long way to go before he's even legitimate competition for Slowby. Not saying he's got no talent, but if he couldn't crack 4ypc last year behind Baltimore's OL, what's he realistically going to do behind ours?

We can hope competition brings out the best.

We've got no FB, but they are battling for our scheme's equivalent.  Bruiser back and pass pro on third down, plus a "move" back.  Most systems call it an "H" back, but I forget what Bradley calls it.  "K" back, I think - whatever it is, it's what they call an H back from a defensive perspective.
nice trade off. they get forsett, we get pierce
Why? Why in the heck, given that Pierce hasn't proven to be 'all that'... and the fact that he now has a dui to his credit with at least a two game suspension... and given this franchises outrageous bad luck with players who come here who already have a 'history'... why did we pick this guy up?! Is he just practice fodder? I don't see him as substantially better than either Denard or Toby... worse in fact since he's coming here already in trouble.

Are we such bottom feeding scavengers that we needed to pick this guy up? Maybe we should change our names from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Jacksonville Catfish!

WHYYYYYYY!!!!!!
Go on say something else. Get it all off your chest.

That being said, anybody know what we are on the hook for in 2015?

google is awesome:

$660,000

Thinking outside the box here, but good to see we are active today during March Madness Smile Putting in work!
Its not like its a financially irresponsible move but it totally seems pointless. I don't see this guy doing anything Toby or Storm can't, and he's going to miss time for the dui so what is the goal for this.
