Imagine, waking up for the next six years knowing that you will make 120 million.

60 million to be garanteed

This is such a relief to me. While he is a future HOFer, this is not the time to be going after a guy like that.

35 million after Uncle Sugar takes his cut. Still a nice haul.

With a pricetag like that I'd say we've won.

What did Mario Williams and JJ Watt get?

I thought Detroit was trying to clear space to keep him. Wonder who they'll try to get now. Looks like 'fins had enough of Brady and want some Suh'steppin.

His immature behavior set aside, this is actually the way the new CBA meant to reward veteran players. 3 years ago this could've been a rookie #1 contract. I thin Miami is silly for paying a guy with as many red flags as he has that type of money, but it's nice to see the system work.

I'm fine with this, not in the division and too much money in one player

We also get to see him against the Jags in Jax when they play the Dolphins, providing of course that the contract gets signed on Tuesday.
The O-line better be ready.

As nice as it would have been to land a guy the caliber of Suh, the Jaguars dodged a major bullet by "losing" out on his services. Sorry, but there are still enough holes on this roster that the team will have more than enough cap money to fill without bank rolling a huge chunk of it for one guy at a position that honestly isn't a huge need for this team.

I have no idea how much validity the following report has. But according the report, the Colts are offering twice as much guaranteed money for Nick Fairley as any team. I think Fairley's skills are better in a base 4-3. I have no idea what the 3-4 based Colts plans are if they sign Fairley.

The Lions made many miscalculations with Ndamukong Suh along the way that led to today's news. But you touched on a key point. The old CBA was the ultimate reason it looks like Suh will be playing elsewhere. When you have three top 2 picks in 4 seasons ( Calvin Johnson, Matthew Stafford, and Suh ) under the terms of the old CBA, it makes a tremendous strain on the salary cap.
As for Miami, the instability of that organization is what stands out. While Suh is a differential player, I seriously doubt the Dolphins organization is going to be conducive to winning substantially and consistently during the time of Suh's contract. What the Jaguars are trying to accomplish under their current team brass seems much more sound and consistent.

Let's see if we will fill those holes with legitimate upgrades first.
We need to get at least 1-2 of the top tier free
Agents.
