I said all along teams would be assigned last as I wanted to get people to buy in to the date, time and system first. Maybe this year the draft goes off without a hitch. Last year the wheels came off early and it was a mess. Obviously not everyone had the patience to let that process play out. So we move forward.

Almost everyone typee 1 which was do it 3 consecutive Saturdays.  Now its Sunday and there are only 2 Saturdays left before the draft lol.  Every body keeps asking when this thing is gonna start and you log on and dont answer anybody.  Was your 3 consecutive Saturdays after the real draft lol?

 Two of the people from that list were alternates:   Teen Mutant Ninja Bortles and JackCity.   I didn't see CajunJaguar listed.

 

  If HIGH SCORE made an inadvertent mistake,  I'm sure he would be the first to have regrets.  In fairness to him,  I asked HIGH SCORE to take over today with no advanced notice.   Under difficult circumstances,  he got the Mock Draft going better than anyone could have realistically expected.

 

 My recommendation would be for the 3 of you to have the first opportunity to participate if others don't show up.     I would even volunteer one of you taking over for me for at least one of the remaining rounds if one or more of you don't have the opportunity to participate otherwise.

 

You can draft. I'll just sub if someone doesn't pick I guess.

 One slight correct.  It was the 3 consecutive Sunday option.

 

 There's no question we were in a tough spot.  As much as I would have preferred Kotite to handle the entire process unless he wanted others to pitch in,  the time factor made it urgent that we got going on this in one way or the other.  The comments earlier in the day in this thread were an indication to me that we had to do something until Kotite came back to the thread.   I think the feedback from the most of the people that already picked has been favorable about what we did this afternoon.   We could easily have bumps in the road moving ahead.  But at least for now we have a foundation.

  Again,  I'm sorry that it didn't go totally smoothly.   Whatever transpires,  as always your input on draft and overall discussions is valued.

I have proposed the aggressive plan of doing this in three separate rapid fire rounds (each 96 minutes in length).  I think it can be done if planned properly.  The issue is..  getting 32 people on the same page across time zones.  We have GMs on the east coast, the west coast and abroad.  If we cannot come to an agreement on a date and time which work for the majority of GMs, we can try to do this the slower way (of which I have previously expressed my misgivings).  The good news is we have some real flexibility on our side as we do not have the same deadlines as 32 NFL teams do.  That said, my first proposal would be to do this on three consecutive Saturdays at 12:00 pm EST.  This would be 9:00 am PST and dinner time for our European GM."

After Kotite got further input,  including from me,  most people that responded preferred 3 consecutive Sundays.   I know I couldn't make it during the day on Saturdays and would have had to provide a list if I was going to participate.

 

The bottom line is after today,  there were only 2 more weekends before the draft.    It didn't seem like the people responding this morning before I responded seemed comfortable with not knowing what was going on.   That's why I decided to recommend HIGH SCORE to keep the ball rolling.     Kotite was a great help in getting everything going in that we were able to take more steps today.   In essence,  it was a team effort.

Gotcha, yeah the main thing is it got started.  The first 10 picks have already been picked so we are off to a good start so far  Hopefully this thing keeps rolling smoothly

Absolutely.  

 

Chances are we will have some road bumps along the way but that's the norm when it comes to a project with 32 people and several alternates.  

So, looking at "Last Active" dates, the 4 most distant logins are:

yeah we definitely need active people. Just send High Score a message letting him know JackCity hasnt been on in 2 weeks and you want to replace him. Im sure he will do it when he gets back on

I was originally on the list of mock gms, and I've been logged in every day. I think I should also get dibs over some of these others who haven't been logged on for 2 weeks.
