As usual, we have an early pick in the third round. This year, it is #67 (3-3) if we don't trade up or down. Who do you think would be good options for that pick if they are available? Would you trade up or down? What do you think we may do with that pick? It is not too early to start thinking about this one.
Depends on what happens in rounds (1) and (2). But you already knew that.
Starting a thread just because.... Classic JDUB
I say we sell it to the highest bidder so Khan can stack his money
Brandon Linder if he's there.
Quote:Elliot Stabler.
I'd rather take Fin Tutuola.
I think we should be looking for a free safety in this round. Maybe Derron Smith or Chris Hackett. Or maybe one of the running backs of there is anything left after round 2.
(Yes I know it's impossible to predict, but give JW a break ! don't all these draft threads involve a degree of speculation ?)
Come back to me around March 17 or so and ask again.

Between 80-90% of the threads started on this message board arent worthy of being their own thread, yet for some reason the internet tough guys around here only seem to pick on the chick with a known medical condition. Doesnt say much for the quality of human beings we have on this board. but alas....
Anyways based on all the current mock drafts out there and top 100 boards, it seems likely one of the quality RBs will be there. Like a Duke Johnson possibly. Ive seen that OT from Colorado St predicted anywhere from early 2nd round to early 4th round. I still see some mocks and top 100 boards that have Phillip Dorsett as a 3rd rounder. I think he'll go 2nd but if he is there in the 3rd, Id jump on that.
Early 3rd is a good spot to pick. There is always some guy who is possible late 1st or early 2nd that inevitably slips to early 3rd for some reason.
Certainly like David Johnson at the top of Rd 3, but if RB has been addressed then Derron Smith - FS - Fresno State would make sense, so too might Anthony Harris - S - Virginia.
It is also possible that Cedric Ogbuehi - OT - Texas A&M falls to the top of Rd 3 due to his ACL injury and he too would offer value at the pick.
With the depth at WR there should be a 1st round talent that falls into the second round. The same may also be true for LEO/LB/OTTO.
Ive struggled finding someone i like that would be a good pick here in round 3. Maybe a RB or CB (IFO from Oregon). As for the 4th round i'd like us to take Tyler Lockett.

I think the third is too high for Tutuola. I'd take a flyer on him in later rounds.
Ameer Abdullah........doesn't wow you with his 40 but he does with everything else

My # 1 concern with Ameer Abdullah as an NFL prospect is he has fumbled around 24 times in college. This coupled with him having small hands is something that can easily be highly problematic on the NFL level, with better athletes and skilled Defenders surrounding him.

Not that Ameer could easily be able to do the same but didnt Tiki Barber have a big time fumbling problem? And then Tom Coughlin taught him to carry the ball tucked up high between his forearm and his biceps? Maybe Ameer could be taught the same.

I thought about the Tiki Barber situation and technique correction is definitely something that NFL teams interested in Ameer Abdullah should explore.
One thing that I don't recall is if Tiki Barber has small hands. It's possible that technique can help in the Ameer Abdullah case but the question becomes to what extent? Some players with smaller hands have soft/ natural hands. Others don't. If that latter is the case with Addullah, fumbling and dropped passes could always be a problem.....even if technique can cut down the frequency to some extent.
