I'll take it.

Excellent information.   Thanks,

As someone who usually sees the Packers play in 8 to 10 games a season,   I strongly believe Randall Cobb is one of their most important components.   With the Packers not having anything close to a differential TE in 2014,   Cobb stepped up big time for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers overall.     I hope I'm wrong but I still believe he will be back with the Packers in 2015.

If the Jaguars are able to land Cobb,   their WR corp has a good chance of being a major strength as early as 2015.    Even if Justin Blackmon doesn't play a down for the team.
Sounds like the Packers are going to let Cobb hit the open market. http://www.bigcatcountry.com/2015/2/26/8...nt-jaguars

But then I saw Canfora was the one reporting it so now we will see.

Less than 2 weeks from the start of Free Agency.

Should be interesting.

It looks like Cobb will be hitting free agency:

La Canfora isn't the most reliable reporter for inside information and he's the only one reporting that Green Bay is likely to let Cobb test the market. I'll wait until some more insiders say the same thing to get my hopes up.

<div>Cobb also tweeted this minutes after that JLC report came out.

Well, okay, I get that and all. But what if I read it. Does that make a difference?

We had the #39 pick last year, not #40. Marqise Lee would benefit from a year behind Cobb before he becomes a full-time starter. Nine million dollars a year is not too much for us. Cobb can also return punts. Playing with an elite QB is completely irrelevant. The only reason not to want Cobb is the fact that he would prefer to stay in Green Bay.
Best troll or best troll ever?!?!?!?!
La Canfora's a joke. His preferred method of "reporting" seems to be flinging poo at a fan and seeing what sticks to the wall. I still think it's entirely possible that one of Cobb or Bulaga ends up the odd man out in Green Bay, and I hope we pursue whichever guy that is, but there's a lot of negotiating to be done before the free agency period opens, and I'm not getting my hopes up for seeing Cobb in teal.

Best I can tell at 5:20 ET Bulaga and Cobb were not francised. Get ready................go!

Free agent Randall Cobb is now seeking an annual salary of $12 million.

His original asking price was $9 million. ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky suggests Cobb may have upped his price after gauging interest at the Combine last month. The Packers could have secured Cobb for $12.823 million by giving him the franchise tag, but instead they'll let him test the market. Cobb could be a fit for Oakland if he doesn't re-sign with Green Bay.

Him and his agent must be hearing some whispers about what he could get from other teams.

Or someone came out and told him at the Combine that they'd pay him $12M per year.

Very likely.

Oakland or us?

May be both, but I think Oakland will make him their priority free agent if he's available. I'd guess McCourty or Julius Thomas will be ours.

Thomas would be more likely in my opinion. I still get the feeling McCourty signs a deal with New England but if he makes it to the market I'd love to see him here. Julius Thomas would be the most talented pass catching TE this team has ever seen. He would be a crucial part of the offense and for Blake. He's a reliable endzone target as well.

Could be both but if it turns into a bidding war I'm willing to concede him to Oakland and focus on other positions. Torrey Smith or Maclin could both be options as well.

I feel the same. Though I think if McCourty does end up moving on, we'll put the full court press on him. Free agent and draft classes lack talent at the position and Evans isn't the answer.
Got to focus on McCourty and pass on Cobb.

McCourty is top priority if we get a chance to make him an offer.  But why not make a run at Cobb too?  It's not as if the Jags have had a viable playmaking receiver since Jimmy Smith (though JB was sure looking the part in short work). Julius Thomas would help as well, but Cobb is young and more proven than any WR on the roster.  And if we could use him in some of the ways Green Bay used him, he would be a great pickup.
