Quote:That's how NE built their team early on, and still do so some today, but not like they use to. Acquire a large amount of picks. It gave them the ability to miss on a couply guys and still be alright because they had numbers on their side.
Just by looking at the first mock draft, there are so many players after pick 20 that would be awesome to have.

Beasley, Maxx, Shaq, both Collins, Kendricks, Perryman and Armstead
Quote:You realize that with all those picks, it allows us to trade back into the 1st round and grab another player?

We could end up taking a number of really good players with 14 picks or we make a bunch of trades to move around and take players they know they like.

Right, and finding a trading partner that isn't infatuated with a player possibly falling to them isn't a definite either.
Yes the chances of this trade happening are much less than it not happening.

I mean I'm argueing for a 1st/2nd rounder in 2016....if the Eagles give up their whole draft for Mariota, their fans will lose it.
Argue for anything you want, since it is not up to you.

Thanks for that update, I was agreeing with you.

Any time.

I expect a chance for a trade, but do not expect a chance for the "rumored" trade.
The point here with this report, is that the Jags are most likely setting up the parameters of a trade back with the parties potentially interested in trading up for Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston. This is all part and parcel of what happens at the Combine when all the GMs and Coaches are together at one location looking at Draft talent.

No one will ever discuss what those parameters are because it is all conjecture until it becomes real, but make no mistake, trade parameter talks are underway and it has been noted that more talks are coming from the Jaguar camp than the Titan camp and that is somewhat significant.

Eagles fans, at some point, "lose it" every year.

This won't be any different.
If they are gonna give up their whole draft i'll take it

I did not come up with this idea. This came out of the mouth of Brian Westbrook, former Eagles RB, last night on PFT TV.

It may sound like not enough to move up, but it also kind of makes sense for a team that is looking for draft picks and not just premium picks.
So the rumor is that the Eagles would give up their entire draft to the Jaguars because the Jaguars are asking "far less" than the Titans?

What the bleep are the Titans asking for in that scenario?

<p class="" style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">Dave "more open" to trading down this year.

Quote:Unless they threw in a 1st or 2nd rounder in 2016, I don't know if I would take it.

Edit; if it was 3 to 10, 2015 picks would be good....but 17 spots is a huge drop from where you are.

I also don't see any way the Eagles actually do this.
if you wouldn't take that deal, you have no clue what you are doing. But no team would be that stupid
Quote:We know for 100% sure that the Jags are NOT taking a QB at #3, and from everything I hear and read, it looks like the #3 pick will probably be Williams.

I would think that if Williams goes before the Jags draft at 3, there is a very good chance they trade down and get more picks.

That's how I see it.

Of course a lot can happen between now and the draft.
Williams there or not, I don't think it really matter. The only way we take Williams or any other player at 3 is if Dave can't get a good trade back offer
Not so sure about that. Based upon what Oesher said yesterday, if Williams is not there, then the trade down option would come into play. Still, how does the trade down work without the QB falling past Pick 2?

It won't happen, but if for some crazy way we did trade back to the Eagles spot I think Maxx Williams would be the pick

Do you really think Oesher knows? Lol. Last year he said it was gonna be Mack or Watkins. If anything Dave will tell him the opposite to let it get out. Where we would just get more trade leverage
I think it is more likely that we'd be able to trade down than Tennessee will.  I'm guessing Winston goes #1 and Tennessee is probably content with Mett, and likely will have their heart set on drafting Williams.  Only a huge deal will let them move back, whereas the Jags would probably be happy swapping with Washington/NYJ for a much cheaper price.
