I don't care if Hurns' is a #1 or a #3. The guy produced. Yes, he knew the system but he still ran good routes too. Work on the hands and Hurns .ca be a good Jag for awhile. I pray Blackmon comes back in shape and (most importantly) with his head on straight. Our WR Corp will be solid

Hurns has done well to be on an nfl roster and produce but i think his ceiling is close to where he is now
Blackmon has the biggest chance to break our hearts again and i have to go with harry from third rock from the sun fool me once shame on you fool me six times shame on me
either way i wouldn't sign an fa or draft a wideout above the 4th as we have other needs on the roster we already have a high potential trio and if Blackmon can stay clean add a vet in and the rookies will struggle for playing time

People and networks confuse #1 WR just like they confuse Franchise QB and Elite QB. The designation #1 is usually the single WR on one side. but the #1 has been collectivly uesd to describe the top receiver. and like the QB thing the debate will rage on until the network idiots decide to call it something else.
I guess I'm like most of the jags fans who've been here since the start; I tend to measure everyone against Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell. And so far, everyone's come up pretty short too. I understand (as 'Paksat' pointed out in an earlier post) that our current receivers aren't currently playing with the same level of play makers around them that Jimmy and Keenan had. Just the opposite; they themselves are rookies, playing with rookies, being coached (mostly) by rookies.
Still, given the degree of... difficulties... they've faced, I'm pretty encouraged by what I've seen. Keeping in mind what our receivers of the not so recent past have done, I'll be encouraged if we can see the same guys on the field again... and without any legal dark clouds hanging over them.
A big challenge is going to be what we see on offense for the team next year. I think Fisch had some creative approaches but darn that paired down playbook was beat like a drum. I understand that is what you can expect when it is rookies and 2nd years everywhere but more needed to be done.
It seemed like the focus was never on what we could do and it was always will take what we get.

I can see the rationalization now that if this upcoming seasons results are still poor that it will be blamed on the newness of the coaching staff, particularly the OC. While I can understand the reasoning behind it, I just don't think that Gus is going to get the benefit of the doubt again if were not even able to reach 6-10 after three full seasons. Other teams have to deal with difficulties and unexpected contingencies and so also must the Jags. If they can't reach 6-10 by this point, somethings wrong with the plan.

I agree with this guy. Marquise Lee and Allen Robinson may be better athletes or have more potential, but it all comes down to production and Allen Hurns was extremely productive, especially for an undrafted rookie. You don't do the things Hurns did as an undrafted rookie unless you have talent. It will be interesting to see how he progresses next year.

He had a great rookie year especially for an undrafted WR... still trying to figure out how or why he went undrafted.

I wont get into heart, because who can judge the intentions of a man & its not fair to say I'm sure they all want it bad but it comes down to execution & Hurns executed better then the rest of them with the same amt of opportunities.

Yes, good way of putting it. We have 3 talented young receivers. The fact that we are arguing over who is the best one is really good IMO.

Not making an excuse, but a not blocked FG here or a not dropped pass there, and we win 6 games this past season. With the second worst ranked offense in the league we were in every game to the end of the 4th besides like 3 or 4. Should have beat the Tacks, Tinhorns 2nd game, Bengals, hell even the second Indy game we were in it till late. The record is what it is, and that 3 games, but a slightly more competent offense and we would have won 6-7 pretty easily.
