Anyhoo....

Congrats to the pats.  They should have lost that game...  But for some reason, the Gods of football  smile on them.

I for one am a bit depressed about it.

Just doesn't seem right to me...  But they won.  So...  I guess we need to congratulate them.

But on the other hand, I just don't feel like the patriots actually played within the true spirit of the game.

I don't know...  I just feel sick inside for this SuperBowl...  Maybe I'm just too stoopid to realize how great Belicheck and Brady are...
Quote:You know I am always serious. If #21 did not intercept Russell Wilson's last pass attempt, a Seahawk could have caught it. And if a Seahawk caught it, Seattle would win the game.

You and your "could of would of should of" stuff. Patriots won.
Quote:Because no one can try and use deflated footballs as a excuse for the patriots winning, because the footballs for this game were more closely guarded then the President.

It's not like they went from being the jags to winning the Super Bowl...they still are the Patriots.

I don't think it's the football gods smiling on them.  I think it's Roger Goodell.  If the Jaguars were caught deflating balls, we'd get hammered for it.  Sean Payton got suspended because "Ignorance is not an excuse" for Bountygate, while Bill Belichick had a fine for Spygate (which gave them an actual advantage)

Quote:Can someone explain why Tom Brady is the MVP again? He threw two interceptions and the play of the game was by #21. not #12.

People seem to think interceptions cancel out TDs but that's not true at all. An interception is just a change in possession.  A TD is 6 points. Brady is probably the obvious choice.

They weren't caught. Your grapes are sour.

Goodell would've told the Jags no, and let Luck & the clots waltz into the Super Bowl
deflated balls is nothing.  Nothing is nothing.  It doesn't matter, right?  You win, and you're great.  You lose and you're a loser...

It's just kinda a sham to me.

Dude, Brady isn't the best is he?  I mean, in every SB he played in, he won or lost on flukey plays...  How great of a QB can he be?

Dude, this SB, he sucked.  He's captain checkdown...  Yet, for some reason, he's great.  I mean, damn...  He checks down more than any QB I can even think about.

But his check downs work...  It's just mind numbing.

He's really not that great, is he?  I mean, honestly, I don't know anymore.

I just don't get it.  How did they win that game?  It's hurting my head trying to wrap my mind around this.  Brady played like a punk most of the game.  He didn't deserve the win.  He really didn't.  Check downs don't get sprinkles...

Could have, would have, should have...you know it's coming.

You know how important hte touchdown/interception ratio is, right? And that the most important play in football is a turnover?

I think Brady is a great player.  Best of all time?  No.  But I think he's a great QB.

Belichick though... he lost to Tom Coughlin in the Super Bowl twice.  And Belichick had the superior Quarterback. Coughlin turned the Jags into something great while he was here.  Belichick's first year in New England?  Not so great, and that was with Drew Bledsoe.  Who isn't exactly a bad QB.  And his stint in Cleveland wasn't great either.  I'd be more convinced of his coaching skills if he won a SB without Brady.
Quote:Then explain why we always hear about quarterbacks going through their progressions or reads to look for open receivers. I see that on all kinds of passes except screens and laterals.

Are you serious? Think of that play as a "screen or lateral" then. It was an immediate short yardage throw to a specific receiver.

dude, I don't know anymore.  I almost feel like there is no true justice in terms of the game.

I'm pretty bummed out right now.  It's just...  I don't know...  Where's karma?  Why hasn't karma shown up?

Is there such a thing?  I mean, really?

Is this a learning lesson?  Does this mean that cheating is OK?  If one is smart enough to figure out how to bend the rules enough to where you get an advantage and cannot be proven to cheat, you are the winner?

Is this how we should live our lives?

ESPN is gonna fawn all over the patriots.  And yet I feel they are cheaters.  Maybe I'm just a dummy.  Maybe they didn't cheat.  They just knew how to bend the rules enough to be winners.

It's just...  So sad.   So sad to think that cheating is OK...  I don't think I want to live in a world like this...

He did short passes because of the defense. He found match ups. Look at the pass to Gronk. He found the match up for a long TD pass.

Yeah, but he's now gonna be considered the greatest coach of all time.  It hurts to think about that.  It really does...  He's a cheater.  But he'll never have that tag stick to him.  ESPN, the NFL network, all the talking heads will say how great Belicheck is...

It just feels bad to me.  It feels dirty...  I just don't know...  Maybe I'm being overly dramatic...  I just can't wrap my head around this.

Time to put down the bottle...

It was neither. It was a one-yard forward pass. So there is no rule it absolutely must be to a specific receiver if he is double covered.

The NFL will clear the Patriots of all cheating now, of course.  Gotta keep their legacy alive.  It's kind of like the cops investigating cops though.

Shame too, I was looking forward to us drafting a pick ahead. Goodell hates us
