I already think they are the best QB/Coach duo ever.  Also, I think Brady is top 3 all time at the QB position, and Belichick is the best coach in our era(Adam Schein thinks so http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...-greatness ).  My question is, if they win their 4th Super Bowl, does this solidify them as the best of ALL time?  The stats are crazy, the wins are crazy, the division titles are crazy, 9 AFC Championships are crazy, and 6 Super Bowl appearances tied for most of all time is unreal for being together for 12 years.  I just don't think they will ever be matched.  Think about this objectively, and leave the "gate" out of it.

Yes. Because it likely doesn't stop there. Next year they will be back with a vengeance, after this whole fiasco, competing for another ring.
If you were going by accomplishments alone, they  would probably be the best coach/QB combo.

That said, I don't think you can overlook Spygate in helping them win their first 3 Super Bowls.

It is already a fact. They are the winningest head coach/quarterback duo in NFL playoff history. I heard about that during the AFC Championship Game.

First three? I thought it was only responsible for one of them.

Patriots won Super Bowls in '01, '03, and '04. The Spygate controversy didn't spring up until 2007.

Players on the Rams, Panthers, and Eagles felt the Patriots were filming their closed practices.

And you think that was not because they started spying in 2007?

No, they were probably video recording between 2000 to 2006.

From Wikipedia:

<p style="color:rgb(37,37,37);font-familyConfusedans-serif;">In compliance with the May 8 deadline, Walsh sent eight separate videotapes to the league offices in advance of the meeting:[10][49]
  • One tape from the Miami Dolphins game on September 24, 2000
  • Two tapes, one offensive signals and one defensive signals, from the Dolphins game on October 7, 2001
  • One tape from the Buffalo Bills game on November 11, 2001
  • One tape from the Cleveland Browns game on December 9, 2001
  • Two tapes from the January 27, 2002, AFC Championship Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers
  • One tape, from a "third camera", from the San Diego Chargers game on September 29, 2002

I certainly can't rule out that this gave them an advantage in getting to their Super Bowls and winning.

They never filmed practices though, they filmed during the games.  Bill Belichick quoted last week saying "it was in front of 80 thousand fans and cameras when we did it, and every other team in the league were doing the same thing"
Belichick certainly isn't the best coach ever, and I wouldn't even put him in the Top 5 to be honest.  And I think people who say he's the best are silly.

That's a bit out there to not have him in the top 5 on accomplishments alone.  I can think of a few others who should be in the conversation but I'm curious who your top 5 are?

Also, if Brady retires in the next couple of years and Belichick moves on and Gus Bradley is fired or moves on in the same year, would Belichick be someone you would welcome to the Jaguars?

The only reason to think that is the two scandals. He is the winningest coach in the playoffs, won three Super Bowls in four years, and was the first NFL coach to win all 16 regular season games in 2007. He also will be the first coach in history to work at six Super Bowls on Sunday (at least at the head coach position). As much as I hate him for being a rude liar and intentional rule breaker, I cannot deny the obvious fact that he is the best coach in NFL history in terms of wins and his unprecedented successes. Give me the name of one guy who accomplished more in his career than Bill Belichick. I bet you can't.

There's more to it, but I don't want to get this thread off topic. I'll be happy to discuss elsewhere though.

Vince Lombardi.  Won 90% of his playoff appearances.  He lost only a single playoff game.  NFL Champions five times, Super Bowl Champions twice in back to back years, and if you count the NFL Championship, he won back to back to back years.  Lombardi was the best NFL coach of all time, and people who say otherwise probably weren't alive for that era in the first place.  The man didn't just make the Packers into champions.  He took the Redskins and turned them around and laid the groundwork for them to win many of their super bowls as well.  Keep in mind when he took over the Redskins, they hadn't had a winning season in FOURTEEN years.  Bart Starr would not be Bart Starr without Lombardi.
Walsh/Montana is the best combo ever.
So, what do you think? I sat yes.
You can say they are the best duo with a big fat asterisk

They're on the Mount Rushmore of HC/QB pairings; Lombardi/Starr, Walsh/Montana, and Belichick/Brady.
