Same here. Especially now that I have a similar office job. Very easy movie to relate to.

I'm getting more and more into War movies, especially now that they are showing the extreme emotional impact that that kind of environment can have on a human. Fury was incredible in this aspect as was American Sniper.

 

Then again, Anchorman was one of my absolute favorite movies, so I hope that's proof that I try not to take myself so seriously.

 

I still don't know if The Big Lebowski was a comedy or simply a cultural commentary. Whatever it was, I loved it.

 

I can't stand the Matrix movies, just too much for me to swallow.

 

Love Actually is a Christmas tradition for me.

Only current films I've seen are Birdman and Interstellar. I liked them both. 

 

Birdman was great because of it's freshly presented perspective and creativity.  Laughing at people who perform for a living battling their own egos was also cathartic for me. 

 

Interstellar made me learn about tesseracts and re-consider galactic scale.

I liked the first 1:45. I understand the end was supposed to be all deep and stuff. But I thought it was corny, predictable and drawn out.


But everybody has their own opinions. That's what makes the would go 'round.

I assume you mean Interstellar?   I thought the ending was pretty soft, and yes, you definitely could see it coming.  I didn't mind at the time since I had taken my 15 year old niece to see it  - but yeah - not the best ending. 

I like weird and unusual movies, the kind that keep your mind going after the credits roll.  That's why I look for directors like David Lynch or Brian De Palma.  Blue Velvet and Body Double, that kind of thing.

LOVE Body Double. Very underrated film. I have it on DVD. lol

Fargo, Mystery Alaska, The Big Lebowski and Donnie Darko are some of my very favorite weird and quirky movies. The Professional is an all time favorite.

The Equalizer with Denzel was really good. Although, most Denzel movies are worth seeing. Interstellar was alright, but I expected more.

Have you ever seen Memento? Might take you a bit to wrap your head around it, but a really good movie.

I did see that back when it came out. It was a puzzler and I always wanted to see it again but never did. Maybe I should look for it. I love Guy Pearce. He was awesome in Lawless.

Have you ever seen Mulholland Drive?  That is a Lynch film.  Another one like Body Double where things aren't quite what they seem.

Yep I've seen it. Lost Highway is another David Lynch film I like.  I also liked his show, Twin Peaks, but it got a little carried away after we find out who the killer is. He's bringing the show back next year I think and it's supposed to answer all the questions he left. Looking forward to that.

I'm a fan of both Lynch and DePalma and have seen most of their films.  Twin Peaks season 3 is on Showtime and it's weird that it will air exactly 25 years from the last season.  The last time they showed Laura Palmer in the series, she said "I'll see you again in 25 years..." or words to that effect.  Or maybe that was in "Firewalk With Me".  Either way, how did they know???  LOL

That's one you have to watch a few times and then read up on it.

Predestination was really good. Also Edge of Tomorrow. Both time traveling movies, but completely different. Got to say Sci Fi and Horror probably my favorite to genres.


I had a horror movie club going there for a few months. A lot of fun.
