Quote:what about what he did at syracuse? he inflated nassib's value by quite a bit and made syracuse a ton better.

also that no stones thing is a joke because as much as you may not like the guy, he was definitely vocal about the bills being a mess. he butted heads with the FO about playing orton instead of manuel..... which was the right move because ej is terrible.

id like to see more of his offensive playcalling philosophy. i might need to do some research today because he is definitely a legit possibility.
I watch a lot of Syracuse Orange football because I'm from that area and it's my Alma mater. I actually saw it as the opposite, that it was Nassib that made him look better. I agree with you that EJ isn't good, but the "no stones" nickname he earned had nothing to do with EJ vs. Orton. People started calling him that because of his preference to punt on 4th and short situations rather that take a chance.

I'm not a fan of the Bills' front office at all. Their bonehead decisions throughout the years are a huge part of the Bills' problems. They simply did not do their due diligence when they decided to hire Marrone.
Quote:There's no question that Sean Payton has been the Saints playcaller during his time as Saints HC.  Of course,  excluding the season he was suspended for Bountygate.

A key question,  at least on this end,  is how much of an asset Doug Marrone was in terms of game planning,  adjustments,  and overall input as Offensive Coordinator?   There 's no question he's a highly skilled Offensive Line coach.   But can Marrone provide more than that at a level that will enable a team to get to and advance in the playoffs on multiple occasions?     I have significant doubts.
I disagree slightly in that I don't think he's a very skilled O-line coach. The O-line was the unit he personally was the most hands with and spent the most time on. They got worse.

i lived half hour from cuse and saw them quite often, at their stadium. nassib isnt as good as where he was drafted, thats for sure.

Debatable. As a 4th rounder he's about as good as EJ who was drafted in the 1st round. At this point, I almost think I'd rather have Nassib than EJ.
Here's a good take on Marrone's situation that was just posted on one of the Bills' MBs:

Looks like Marrone may be going to the Texans.

As a crony "consultant" to O'Brien. I won't be surprised if the Texan's GM tells O'Brien he'd better rethink that.

Agenda?

He'd be bad for morale there. If I'm their GM, I'd be thinking what would he be bringing to the team.
There's some really weird stuff coming out about Marrone now on some of the Bills' MBs from people supposedly in the know.
Jaguars oline coach according to Clayton

Show us the details or admit that it didn't happen. I seriously doubt that a bunch of posters on the Bills MB can be anymore reliable about Marrone's bio than anybody else on the internet.

It has to do with the arrogant way Marrone waltzed in a tried to blackball the Pegulas into giving him a raise and and extension. Here's the link: http://alturl.com/iyuud

It's from a poster named "OLDTIMEAFLGUY" who I believe knows someone in the Bills front office

Don't really care if he's just going to be the line coach.

See my post above. It's a small community and a few people have connections to the team so it isn't impossible. My mother-in-law,a rental manager, used to manage the property Andre Reed lived in. My ex-supervisor did some hunting with Jerry Ostroski who was their center a few years back. So, yes, it's possible.
