They got the guy they wanted.

Curious how this guy does as a HC. 

He is being put into a near impossible situation. They are likely to lose Gore, Crabtree and Iupati on offense. Vernon Davis looks done. On defense, Justin Smith might retire. Ahmad Brooks could be cut. And as much as their drafts have been praised the last few years, they are not getting much help from their picks since 2012.

Lol Which mod merged the thread with the JDR one? Then misspelled the name after un-merging it?

Now there are conflicting reports about the hire.

Can someone correct the spelling in the subject title? It is GASE not Gace.

If the OP was actually paying attention he would have spelled it correctly.

If Adam Gase ends up with the 49ers HC job or another HC job,   one possibility for his Offensive Coordinator is Greg Olson  ( who the Jaguars reportedly have interest in for that position. ).  It's speculation on my part but Gase and Olson were both on the Lions 2005 Steve Mariucci/  Dick Jauron Coaching Staff.

There are reports out there that the coach is indeed exploring the possibility of legally changing the spelling of his name to "Gace" to help alleviate confusion.

Agreed.  We wouldn't want to go through all that legal mumbo jumbo only to have to change it back after the fact.

How about, Gase to the Jaguars --> OC?  HC jobs are filling up quickly...

If the report is accurate that the niners are going to promote from within, he's running out of seats.  At some point, the Jags may decide it's time to add him to the list of interviews.

Adam Gase is not going to the 49ers! Instead they promoted defensive line coach Jim Tomsula to head coach.
