Quote:Deserves better? Why is that exactly? When he wasn't injured, he was dropping passes, when he was supposed to be the veteran receiver...

Deserves better.....give me a break.

Yeah, his post doesn't make sense what so ever.
Quote:Relly isn't worth it to sign him, slowly we are getting rid of Gene players.
If he would sign a 1 year 2.5 mil. deal.  We should resign him IMO
We got younger WRs that aren't injured and produce when given the opportunity

No way.  He's a drive killer.  It must suck being outperformed by 3 rookies.
I know he's been disappointing, but I wouldn't hate if we offered him a 1-year "prove it again" type deal.

What happens when Lee, Hurns, or Robinson get hurt like they all did this year?

You cross that bridge if/when necessary. You don't keep an unreliable player on the roster just because. Even at your price point he'd be overpaid.

You are absolutely right on this one.  Also, what happens if Blackmon comes back?  I doubt anyone will remember Shorts then.
I would rather Shorts than Streeter.  Maybe its just me

Then it is too late, I dont think 2.5 mil for 1 year would be overpaid.
Quote:This could be said for a lot of receivers. He didn't step up and prove himself as a #1 and was outshined by a rookie.
A rookie? He was outshined by 2, hell maybe 3 if you include Lee.

Well, regardless of what you'd rather, Streeter will probably make it to the Jags training camp, and Shorts will not.

Yeah, it would be excessive based on his performance this year. Shorts regressed in a contract year.
Shorts is gonna want a crazy contract that he's not worth. We got 3 younger WRs ready to go. Shorts is expendable

Thats because he will get paid more on a different team and thats fine with me.  But he is far from useless and would be a good 3rd or 4th WR.  Most 3rd or 4th WR cant even get open enough to drop a pass
I'm not saying sign Cecil and have him be a starter. A veteran backup to ARob, Lee, and maybe Cobb.

I'd love it

That's a ringing endorsement for your guy. He gets more open when dropping passes. Awesome.

Just me, you would rather Streeter or Sanders as our 4th WR, I would rather Shorts.  I know it most likely wont happen and I would be fine with that also.  Definitely wont lose any sleep over it

Same here

I mean theres no need to just dump him to do it, having him as a 4th(Arob, Lee, Hurns) wouldn't be bad, but I don't think he will settle for that and I absolutely am not gonna overpay for him. Also, the other wildcard of Blackmon could push him down to 5th(though unlikely, still possible.) Assuming Sanders will be gone or last on the chart.

OTOH, we are talking about starting 3 second year guys that ALL got injured, some multiple times(Lee was even hurt in college as well, possible pattern) assuming they will improve and play the whole year or most of it. We can see with Cyp and Joeckel that is not always the case. I understand him being gone, and I would probably do the same, but there is certainly something to be said for keeping him as well.
