Quote:He was a starter when we played the browns. I did count the redskins,kirk destroyed us ,Hasn't fitpatrick been starter in houston since the season started.

Fitz was the starter because Mallet got hurt.  Hoyer is Cleveland's Henne.  Kirk was the backup who came in after RG3 went out, but in fairness Washington doesn't have a starting QB on their roster either.

It would 'seem' like the odds favor the Jags against the tacks Thursday night.

*we have home field advantage

*it would help the tacks if they did lose to get a better draft pick

*they are on the road after a short week

still.... the Jag's suck sooo badly! I wouldn't be surprised if we got beat on national television; this plus getting pounded again the following week by the horns would cap a remarkably 'sucky' season. Given the number of rookies we've had playing this season, none of us should be surprised we suck so bad... not happy about it, but not surprised either.

Quote:Can't believe we have the misfortune of having to go against Whitehurst again.

Whitehurst = Jag Killer.

Whitehurst is not a Jags killer. We played against him only one time and were killed by Tennessee's defensive line.
Come on meaningless win, we don't need those extra draft picks!!

What extra draft picks? Win or lose, we get the same number of picks.
Quote:Charlie Whitehurst is not the starter. This time we will play against Jake Locker. What is your point?
Clearly you don't know what the hell you're talking about, so what's your point?
I hope the Jags lose out and the bucs win out!

Go Jags ! :yes:

The magical extra draft picks the team can only get by losing. Ah yes.
Titans just signed QB Jordan Palmer (remember him?) as a backup for Thursday's game. With 2 days to learn their system and a resume like this, let's hope he doesn't get a chance to play. Jags have a history of allowing "never was's" to have career games;

Palmer:

Stay Healthy, Whitehurst!!
Interesting to say the least.  You read in the paper that the Jaguars are "favored", but that's really not the case.  Usually the home team is "given" 3 points just for "home field advantage".

Opening line is Jaguars -3.  What this means is there is no clear winner, and Vegas sees this as a "toss up" type of game.

Opening over/under is 41 which makes it seem like the game might be a lower scoring affair.

The current line is as follows.

Jaguars -3.5 - What this means is Vegas is giving a slight nod to the Jaguars, but I certainly wouldn't call it a "favorite".

Over/Under - 40.5 - What this means is Vegas is leaning towards a lower scoring game.

My Bottom Line Analysis

If I was betting or predicting this game, I would bet on the Jaguars... IF Blake Bortles plays.  It also depends on how healthy he really is.  After reading the latest news, I think that he is fine and will play.  I also think that his play combined with the play of the defense should give a win to the Jaguars by more than 3.5 points.  I predict that the defense would hold the Titan's offense to 10 points or less, the Jaguar's offense produce's at least 17 points (two touchdowns and a field goal) and special teams will decide the final outcome of the game.

If I was to bet the Over/Under I would take the under, but this one is tricky.  Assuming the offense and defense performs the way that I predicted above, that would equal 27 points.  That means that any other points scored would be from Special Teams and both teams combined would have to score 13.5 points.  I don't see that many points being scored by either team's Special Teams squad.

I certainly could be wrong, but I just don't see either team putting up enough points to pass 40.5 combined points.

Once Again, Disclaimer

I don't bet and am in no way giving betting advice to anyone.  I'm simply giving my analysis based on the odds.  Use my prediction(s) at your own risk.  My guess is that the Jaguars win 17-10.

I wonder what the line would be if BB was not able to play and the Jags had to start Henne? Or what would the line be if the Jags decided to start Morris?

Well at least the streak of 40-something straight games as an underdog will be over after this game.

 I belieave jags need to win tonight. Its a must win game to decided thier future. if jags lose tonight they will never never never ever have a winning season again as long as until they hire a real HC that has expirence like a Jeff Fisher or even bill cower. tonight is a must win.
