Quote:Can somebody give me a logical reason that winning on Thursday is a good thing for this franchise? With a win, we essentially hand the tacks Winston or Mariota.

I have a terrible feeling about this.

Can't think of one. I don't believe that a single win can boost the confidence of a team and propel them to greatness the following season. Call me crazy. All it comes down to is adding talent in the offseason. That's the only hope. And having a chance to pick the better player or to trade down for a bundle of picks is what it's all about. Getting a leg up on another team in the division is an added bonus.

Someone will think of one....
I just can't take another 2 yard swing pass tackled for no gain. I just can't. That's all.

Quote:Good God. You just painted a bleak, but probably true picture.

I'm a realist...  LOL  You gotta laugh at this stuff.

Any you're right, there really is no logical benefit of winning against the tacks, except for you know the standard stuff.

Wins are important, blah blah blah..

I just thought of something...

The "wins are important crowd" when it comes to these so calling meaningless end of season games, are the same ones that say winning this season isn't important...  How to they rationalize that sort of thing????

What are you talking about, it's our bread and butter!

I've coined the Fish offense, the "East Coast Offense".   And it's all bubble screens, and wide slow developing sweeps...

Everytime you see Lee swing out wide for a pass at the sideline that traveled 0-1 yards past the line of scrimmage, think "East Coast Offense".
So we draft high big deal. We will trade that pick to Baltimore and draft another Jokel. It's groundhog day hell.

I don't even know who we pick in the draft.  This whole team needs upgrading.  It's so pathetic.  Guarantee we will draft another O lineman, safety, CB...The only one I know we aren't drafting is QB.

The East Coast offense has to be killed. Today. On the plane back someone, maybe Marks, has to rip that play out out the book and shove it down Jedd's throat and force his jaw up and down until it's swallowed, digested, and eliminated in the blue waters of the Charter jet's toilet.

I think we need some more east coast college kids to complete the offence. I want some Harvard-educated receivers who run 5.2 40's and have 20" verticals.

It's a moot point, the Jaguars will play to win.

You still believe in Santa Claus, too?

They played hard - they deserve 2 scoops and extra sprinkles on top!!

This coach and team is almost becoming comical.
Quote:Oh yeah, we'll win that game.  There's no doubt in my mind we get that win.  And we'll be drafting 5th or 6th next year.  And all the coaches are coming back for another year as well...

More than likely we'll have another 4-5 win season next year as well.  And Bradley will get one more year, but we'll fire Fish and bring in another weak OC for 2016...  Lather, rinse, repeat.
Where are the "win at all costs" apologists like Dakota when you need them?

Yep, these meaningless wins sure do a lot for sucking year after year after year...
You guys are unbelievable.

I think this team is slowly getting better. Honestly, we were a few plays away from winning this game in Baltimore...a playoff team.

We obviously need improvement in a lot of areas, but cmon people!

Bortles, btw, is starting to get better and better. A lot of drops and awful protection and I thought he played really well.

I will say one thing... Marcedes Lewis has to go. Time for a real TE threat.

Yeah, BB5 had a pretty darn good game considering he had almost no time to throw the ball...

You're right we were in that game.  We very well could have won it...  So that's a positive.

The only problem is that I've been watching this offense all year long.  Once we gave up the TD, I knew it was over.  Our offense just doesn't move the ball in the positive direction much in the 2nd half.

Now if there were some points for how well we can throw from sideline to sideline, we'd be a pretty darn good offense.

You see, we don't like going north and south.

We like going West to East, he attack the sidelines with great anger and furious vengence.  We are the ultimate East Coast offense!

Yes. Once we went down 17-12 I wasn't too confident myself. And I also agree we should stretch the field a little bit more because it works and I feel we get in most trouble with these short passes.. mainly because the defense knows what we are doing... But I see improvement on both sides with young players and I'm excited for next season.

Hurns is awesome.  I think Lee will be more successfull when BB5 has more time to throw deep.  AR-15 is gonna be very good too.

I like Shoelace as well, but again, the O-Line needs to be fixed...

So yes, there is some positives.  We just need to upgrade a few spots and we will be very good...

Looking on our D, yes, we get gashed in the middle alot, but we consistently hold teams to the low 20s for the most part.  That's a positive thing.  We just need an offense.  We need a new scheme, in my opinion.
Gus: "I saw a lot of guys competing out there. They looked good in a lot of areas. The JEG-WIRES are really competing."

Fan: "Gus, you have taken this team to new lows."

But, but..ran out of another excuse
Quote:Counting offense and defense we have 22 starters...please give us the names of those with talent.

I'm not even going to bother with this. It's clear the team has talent, however the O-Line is so pitiful that everything is offset.
