This thread is all I need to know about the talent level of this team lol

Quote:re-sign:

Pastzor as a backup/swing guy and a ERFA...cheap.

Ta'ufo'ou for minimum/bring in competition...cheap

Ryan Davis is a good depth player...cheap.

JT Thomas as the #4 LB.  I like him as a player.  Very versatile.

Roy Miller only if we can't upgrade... (Hopefully we take a swing at Suh).

Let Ball walk.  We have good young corners and Blackmon is still under contract.

Let Shorts walk.  No explanation needed...

Let Hayes walk if we can upgrade (ie. KJ Wright)

If you can re-sign Ball for a reasonable deal, the team would bring him back in a heartbeat. Blackmon might be under contract, but he honestly was pretty terrible this year.
Quote:I wouldn't mind having Suh. It sure would be nice to see him harass Luck twice a year in a Jags uniform. Our current team just stands there and gets obliterated.

Suh and Marks.

Suh and Marks....hmmmm....

I like it!
Quote:Todman has actually been really good on kick returning, anyone notice that he gets atleast to the 30 yard line every time ?

He came in to the season with a 27 yard average this year. (6th in the league) and has held steady.  Worth keeping for the right price, but may not be terribly difficult to replace with a rookie who returned kicks in college.

Good to keep in mind that this team has a high number of 1st and second year players who are expected to start next year.  That changes the make-up of the impending FA list markedly.

There's just a lot of youth high on the depth chart - and a small group of starters with one or more years remaining on their deals.

Yeah I know. I guess I meant it in the sense that all those 2009-2012 draft guys should be the ones we are talking about for contract renewals and instead we are talking about guys who were brought in in 2013 and beyond. Threads like this are just hard for me to read lol.

Understood.  I guess I've already moved on mentally from the Gene drafts.  It's a sad state of affairs.

It is also why we have a ton of cap room going into next year.

I think we will see them go big in free agency and frontload the deals.

Yeah. This is the year to have the money in free agency. It will be lovely to see all the new pieces acquired via free agency and the draft.
Quote:Would Suh compare better to Albert Haynesworth, instead of Douglas?

Probably. Avoid him like plague.
There are three Free Agents I would like to pursue:

1. Bryan Bulaga - ORT - Packers - He is the top rated OT in Free Agency. He is young and he can play OLT in a pinch. His cost = 7.5 Mil to 8 Mil per year

2. Brian Orakpo - Otto Lb / DE - Redskins - He is coming off a Torn Pec Muscle in his chest - He will be 29 next year. He will cost around 8.5 to 9 Mil per year but he will give us 10+ sacks per year either as the RDE or at the Otto Lb spot. BTW, the Redskins have almost no cap space so keeping Orakpo may be difficult.

3. Tashaun Gipson - FS - Browns - 3 Year starter - Ballhawk - suffering from a sprained MCL (no biggie) 6 Ints this year - He will cost at least 5 Mil per year
