We also need to bring in a veteran WR in FA. Bortles needs some reliable targets while Lee/Robinson develop. Hurns will be off the radar next year imo.

i dont understand why shorts has been starting in front of lee... lee seems much more explosive after the catch... IMHO, between the rest of this season and the offseason, Lee will develop and sure up that position to the point if shouldn't have to be addressed in FA.

As always…. fingers crossed for Blackmon's return.  Certainly not getting the ol' hopes up  -  but crossing the fingers nonetheless.

I'm not writing off Hurns at all (like some apparently are doing now) and I also think that the Copeland kid may compete strongly in the 2015 camp.  Tandon Doss will still be under contract as well - though he'll likely be more of a factor at PR than receiver.

Still - with cap space available - I wouldn't be surprised by a mid-tier vet signing if they move on from Shorts.  There isn't a very impressive crop hitting the streets however outside of a few marquee names that will likely be retained by current teams.

Lee was clearly not ready yet before the bye.  He looked lost out there far too often.

Would love it if we got Torrey Smith. Don't think the Ravens will let him walk though.

Doubt they would spend that type of money on a receiver anyway. If they bring in a veteran, I think it would be a bigger bodied red zone threat like a Malcom Floyd type.
Pray for JB !!

I have a feeling in this era of NFL corruption and scandal, Blackmon will have the opportunity to rise again!!!!!!

I think O'Leary would be a solid 2nd round pick, a 3rd round steal. Yes, he takes big hits, but the guy has real toughness ala Mike Ditka. Definitely a red zone target, he seems to find the seams in defenses extremely well.

Also, did you know he's Jack Nicklaus's grandson? LoL
Hmmm. Well, I would first hope that Blackmon has his life together. If that is underway, and he is allowed to return, then certainly, welcome back. I would hope though that the team would be wise enough not to count on him too much though until he has proved himself for a few years. We don't want to be left in that situation again.... Given his track record, we won't know if he can be counted on for some time...

I would take O'Leary in the 3rd or lower. He could be Blake's Dallas Clark.
I hope.  Blackmon, Robinson, Lee, and Hurns would be one of the deepest groups of WRs in the league.  Just gotta have an O-line that will let him find those guys.

+1000 yesssss

Robinson - Rookie on IR.  We don't know if he'll be able to stay healthy considering how much time he missed.

Lee - Another rookie who had one decent game.  Lets see how he continues to do before saying he's "shoring" up a position (not saying you said that, but others have)

Hurns - Inconsistent rookie who may not get better from what he is.

I certainly wouldn't be mad if they brought in Cooper with the 1st pick if he doesn't get hurt.

I would be a little mad.  Let them develop.  It really depends on where we pick and who is available.  Gregory or Williams are just as talented and would fill a bigger need.  Ideally, we'd improve our O-line as I said earlier.  Not sure if he declares, but the OT from Notre Dame looks legit.
Quote:I don't think Shorts will be here, Blackmon, Robinson, and Lee is a scary trio if the latter two take a step forward. There isn't a team in the league that has 3 corners that can matchup with those players. We'd see a lot of zone coverage which opens up the running game.

Yeah I like this. Blackmon the work horse, Lee is the deep threat, and ARob the possession guy.
even if we get him back, is everyone here really expecting him to be in top game shape after all this time?  Josh Gordon missed way less time than JB and he is already admitting to missing routes, etc...

Quote:I'm a huge Blackmon supporter and wanted him on the Jags since his Sophomore year but even I am starting to think he may never be back Confusedweat:

I'm just glad the organization treated this whole thing the way they did. Supported Blackmon and got him the professional help he needed. Anything we get out of him in the future is just a bonus for me.

Difference would be that he'll have a full offseason to get into shape and work with the offense.  Gordon could access the facility, but he couldn't practice with the team.  Big difference.
