Win. Because if we r winning then most likely Bortles is improving

So do we have a QB now or do we not?
It's not tanking when you've got the worst team in the NFL.

If we get the 1st pick overall and we trade back for more picks, great.  It can't really hurt us.

If we get the 1st pick and just select a player, great.

The nice thing - we can't really do any worse in 2015 so at least we have that to look forward to.  Basically a no-lose situation.

"You play to win the game." I hate the theory behind tanking. How often do we look back at drafts and see that the best performing players weren't drafted high?

Win games. let your scouts and personnel departments do their jobs and get you the right players regardless of draft position.

Winning

but this team will end up with the draft pick.

Just win baby!

I am still waiting for someone to explain why it is important to lose. There is no reason to assume the best or only way to get better next year is "earn" the top pick.

This team will try to win, but will not. They'll have the #1 draft pick either way. With the Raiders beating the Chiefs we are now officially guaranteed the #1 pick.

Nothing is guaranteed. We can beat the Giants, Texans, and Titans to go 3-2 in our last five games (the two losses being at Baltimore and Houston). It may not be probable, but I would be surprised if we don't win a game. And for all I know, the Raiders can lose out to finish 1-15. My prediction has always been the Raiders pick first, even after they beat the Chiefs.

Ask the Colts!

Keep doing what you're good at Jags......losing. The draft was intended to help the worst teams get better and we need to do that. We're also first in line for waiver wire releases up until the first game next year. At the beginning of the year when I wanted them to win they wouldn't so screw em now, continue doing you trash.
Age old question? How about meaningless question.

The people who would have to execute the tank job aren't going to tank because their potentially extremely lucrative careers are at stake.

Anyone who really thinks these guys would go out their and tank their careers so the jags can move up a spot or two in the draft is just dumb.

Win.

Quote:For the sake of the coach and players, win every remaining game. For the sake of the future success of the team, lose every game. If Mariotta's stock continues to rise, the Jags could trade back to the Bucs and still get Gregory or Williams. In addition, they'd get an extra 2nd (giving them 2 high second's) and an extra first the next year. This opportunity doesn't happen often. It stinks to lose, but I doubt you'd find many Colt fans who now regret their 1 win season two years ago.

The flaw with that is that you dont know if the pick(s) yo make will turn out ok. So why not win and draft wherever and make the best out of your pick at that position like other teams do? I dont understand the losing mentality.
Always win.

Tight being said, who would we tank for this year anyway? We're not taking a QB and there isn't a consensus "Clowney" to pick. Caldwell has been great at evaluating talent. Especially in the middle/late rounds (Bowanko, Linder, McCray) trust hi to do his thing. I'd rather keep the trend of never having the first pick or set the franchise record for least amount of wins in a season.

This has to be the dumbest thing I have ever read.

Suck for Luck and now look at them! Winning the division every year. I still say WIN!

The people that get mad about the Jaguars losing are the ones who get mad when they win.

Funny.

It's a win win situation

All without actually winning haha

Well they definitely wont be drafting one at the top of the first round... so were stuck with what we got.
