What?

1-15 in his first year...

7-9 second year...

11-5 his third year...

No comparison, sorry!

JJ was a very successful coach at UM.
The main problem with Bradley that I have is the halftime adjustments. There are none. We have been out-coached in every game including the Browns(defense won the game)

I could be wrong but I don't see any improvements. That is coaching

5-22 over 2 years.  Even worse, 18 of the 22 losses were by double-digits.  That shouldn't happen in the NFL.

That's part of the problem. In the fourth quarter of most games, there is basically no hope of even winning.

The Browns game this year felt like they won the dang Super Bowl and that is just sad.
The Gus Bradley era is clearly over. He will be fired at season end or sooner and replaced by a seasoned head coach. The larger quetsion is what to do about Bortles whose performance has deteriorated since he took over from Henne. The Jags clearly can't bet the franchise on this guy and will plan accordingly.

What I took from that list.......bunch of coordinators that fell back to assistants positions.....we may have another. But in all seriousness, he's in charge at the wrong time. If he doesn't make it, the next coach has a promising Qb with a Yr in the league and offseason to wrk on mechanics, experience on defense and high picks
Quote:The Jags scored exactly 2 points in that Chiefs game.

27 games later they scored exactly 3 points.

Not exactly the progress they and the rest of us were hoping for, now is it?

Hey, that's a 50% improvement. If we can do that each week, we'll be scoring over 20 points by the end of the season.
The biggest mistake this team made coming off 2-14 Mularkey season is not hiring Andy Reid. This team needed a proven guy with a proven system. Promoting a guy into a head coaching job while gutting the roster of veterans then stocking it with players promoted from college was not a clever move.

There were/are plenty of other mistakes in these two seasons but IMO that's the one that got away.

Chief, good point. I was in favor of bringing in Andy Reid but also trading for Alex Smith. What this team needed period was proven vets at crucial positions. Instead they went with another D coordinator and another green bust of a QB. The other thing is who was the last HC that had an offensive mind? oh yeah Tom Freaking Coughlin.

David Caldwell might be the biggest mistake yet, I'm not sold on him at all.
You could be correct on Dave too. He could have hired a proven coach but then he was learning on the job himself.

Dave is the only guy that I will have the wait and see attitude on. Because he's the one that has a background of working and learning from other good  to great football minds and team builders. He has shown he has a knack for drafting some talent and he's taken some chances on players that he missed. But that happens to all GMs. The other thing I can give him credit for is the players he's pursued. Atleast he has tried to pry those players this way IE: Emanual Sanders and Alex Mack. But so far he's had 2 big misses, Paul Bradly and Bubba Bortles.
Glad that Gus considers a 3 point offensive output " unacceptable ". Especially a partially deflected field goal coming at the end of a 4 play, 2 yard drive. The words coming out of his mouth are no different than those of other recent head coaches here. Honestly, all that my ears hear is yadda, yadda, yadda.
Not sure if this is accurate source but here is the link to the coaching hotseat......http://coacheshotseat.com/CoachesHotSeatRankingNFL.htm

Hey! The only coach worse than ours is Tom Coughlin! ...wait, what? Maybe we can get TC to come back home.
How many years does Gus have left on his contract?

I don't always agree with Chief, but this is a very valid point.

If you know you're going to gut the roster and bring in a rookie QB within the first 2 years of a rebuild, you NEED an experienced HC to guide and mentor the young players.

With Gus, you've got someone learning what it takes to be a head coach.

Then you exacerbate the problem by having inexperienced coordinators.

This is why you end up in a position like we are in - 1-10, 1-9 in three consecutive seasons, getting blown out game after game.
Quote:Ok, so let's be positive...

We have too many young players, so we are being outclassed on offense. We have a rookie qb that requires our offense to run heavy and on passing plays throw behind the sticks.

Because of these shortfalls we need to expect to be this bad. Next year, when our rookies are more experienced we will win 7 or 9 games, because players just get better over time irregardless of coaching. Coaches do not matter as much as time, time heals and fixes everything.

This is wishful thinking.

It is what some fans, rottenallltheseyears, hang their hopes on. But it's a pipe dream flawed by the reality of what we see on the field, and what statistically we see on paper.

News flash... You can be a fan of the jaguars and still see we are moving in the wrong direction
Prepare to be flamed by the apologists.

Reid knew what he was doing. Despite their record, the Chiefs had talent. He made the move for Alex Smith, which has worked out for the most part. I'd say the chances that Reid would've come here were between slim and none.
