Being that the 49ers reportedly are very interested in Kyle Shanahan, Gus Bradley would be taking a huge risk by waiting if he wants to be an NFL DC in 2017.
Hey guys, remember that time Gus had a stable job lined up with a team that typically gives its coaches a few years to sink or swim, but instead he signed on the dotted line with the 49ers and was unemployed again eleven months later?
Is he banking on taking a DC job or on the off chance he might get a new HC gig?

He knows Cable from Seattle so that makes sense. But he's either going to be DC in SD or SF.
Chargers are the more appealing job imo. The personnell is mostly in place to run his defense. Theyre missing a crucial part at free safety but if they keep addae and melvin ingram theyve got everything else on that side

Amazingly, the 49ers are going to have more HC's in a 4 season period than the Steelers have had in a 48 season period.

With the Redskins possibly still in the mix as well.

The major concern is the distraction the Chargers move to LA that's inevitable in 2017.

I'm assuming you didn't even see the part that said DC.
But what do you think, does he play it safe and take the chargers job or does he hold out for a Tom cable hire?
If he was smart he would take the chargers job but it is gus....
That is a mind blowing stat.

I don't know why anyone would want to go work in San Fran with the personnel they have.

So Gus is waiting to see if he can be reunited to a team with Gabbert again?

The Chargers, Redskins, and 49ers situations all would be risky for Gus Bradley. In the case of the Redskins, Jay Gruden's job could easily be in serious jeopardy if the team doesn't get to the playoffs in the 2017 season.
Though the move to LA is very likely going to be a major distraction for the Chargers, I agree that it's best of Bradley's options. The instability in the 49ers organization is enough of a reason by itself to stay clear of coaching for them,.

It sure is.
It's not surprising that the Steelers continue to have major success. As much as any NFL franchise, it's easily to picture the type of team they attempt to field year after year. Consistency and stability go a very long way in terms of winning.

The combination of the 49ers personnel and their ownership makes this arguably the worst situation in the NFC until/ unless proven otherwise.
Agree D6, and for some reason Gus is waiting to see if his friend will be the head coach there. It's the exact mistake Gus made when he took the head coaching job in Jax and hired all his friends here and had to basically start over from scratch when that fell apart. Some people learn from their mistakes, some don't.
By DC I'm guessing you mean Director of Cheerleaders and HC means Head Cheerleader?
That's all he's qualified to do.

I think he'd be an awesome Jaxon DeVille.

Good point, UCF Knight.
Gus Bradley would likely enhance his chances of having a long career moving forward as an NFL Defensive Coordinator if he gets out of the shell he's been in. As part of this, he needs to tailor his Defense better to the skills of the personnel he will have than was the case in Jacksonville.
