Quote:He's the DC from Alabama.

The Gators need someone who is good at developing quarterbacks, so replacing a defensive coach with another defensive coach would make no sense.

Yeah, Kirby Smart more than likely wouldn't even be considered.

They need an offensive mind at coach right now. Badly.

I can see them talking to Mullen, but I definitely hope they go another direction.
Brett McMurphy is saying he thinks Rich Rodriguez from AZ, Bob Stoops from OK could be home runs and Dan Mullen more than likely wouldn't be realistic.

The Gators need someone with a winning attitude and Kirby Smart comes from a program that is 4-1 against #1 teams. Nick Saban is a defensive minded coach and it seems like his QBs are just fine. Stupid to think that because someone coaches defense that they don't know anything about offense. A head coach needs a winning vision his players will by in to. Last time I checked Alabama does a lot of winning.

im warming up to the idea of bob stoops. the talent he has had with OK has been good, but what he would have at florida would be great.

If Rich Rod becomes the next coach I'll go to prison for arson. He's so slimy I feel like I need a shower after hearing him talk.
 GO NOLES !

Bottom line is Kirby Smart is not going to be in the cards lol

I'm honestly surprised anyone would think that. Just because he's associated with Alabama. You saw what UF did this year with a good defense and no offense.

He hasn't been a bad HC there though.

No kidding!! I can't see the boosters putting up with Rich Rod!

Yes and I also saw them shut down the #1 team in the country so what's your point. If his name isn't in Foley's mind then Foley needs to be replaced.

NIck Saban had a lot talent on offense all four times he beat #1 teams at Alabama, so an offensive-minded HC is less important there. You have to take that into consideration when you have a young inexperienced quarterback.
maybe urban meyer has some health issues at OSU and then comes back to florida hahaha

He'll be eaten alive by the SEC. I want a coach who knows what it takes to win in the SEC. I mean he was run out of the Big 10 and had one of the best programs in the country and ran Michigan in the ground. No thanks.

When I read the name Rich Rodriguez, all I can think is, "He was a horrible coach at MIchigan." The Gators need someone who has a history of turning around a bad program and that rules out Rodriguez because of his MIchigan stint.

Did you feel that way when the slime ball Meyer was there?

That criterion probably would limit choices to coaches who have SEC teams on their resumes.

He also had great defenses on those teams as well. Let me ask ya, do you think Alabama has more offensive players in the NFL or defensive players? That young inexperienced QB was able to win games with Muschamp as coach so I guess another defensive minded coach won't hurt him.

Finally getting the point. Took longer than I expected.

Only after winning 2 NC and then leaving for the Suckeyes. :-)
