We seem to have one of these threads every month or two. Seems pretty apparent the majority of fans want a change. I think the whole thing is ugly. The two tone helmet, the jersey and pants have too much going on. The alternate uniform is disgusting. And while the new logo has grown on me, I still like the original better. It's funny I've got both stickers on my truck side by side. And I keep getting asked if they are dating. The new one does look pretty feminine compared to the older logo.
Anyways I always hear rumors and whispers that Shad doesnt like teal and wants more gold. Based on our current shade of colors, I dont like this at all as I think our shade of gold is pretty ugly as a main color. Nobody likes darker mustard yellow. If we are going to focus more on gold, I'd rather we change our colors entirely to more of the Naval Academy football team colors. A lighter gold and dark blue. I think their uniform combos are usually pretty solid. Their gold helmet, white jersey, blue plants looks good. The blue jersey and gold pants looks good. Even the white jersey and gold pants is solid.
Quote:Are you crazy? Olive green is the ugliest color on earth. It reminds me of baby poop.

You think that looks like baby poop? That is way cooler than teal and goes with the military theme.
Teal Jerseys would be great to see regularly again. And when the Jaguars wear white jerseys, teal pants would be terrific.
Quote:I'm sorry, but you're really reaching here. I mean, that's ok if your main focus on Sunday is what the team is wearing. Whether or not if it's appealing to your eyes, that's your own personal issue.
I'm looking at how the team lines up and performs on each Sunday. The uniform and/or outfit doesn't mean anything in the big picture. Results are the only thing that matters at the end of the day.
Reaching? I gave a valid point then used your own stance to destroy your argument.
And again, you fell right back into the "winning is the only thing that matters" stupidity to try and have a point. No one is choosing between the uniforms and winning...stop reaching, you're only grabbing more stupidity.
Quote:I like the current Unis. Make our alternate teal, not mustard gold.
Change the helmets.
^This.
That wasn't a vote option.
I liked the 1990's uniforms better, but I don't think the Jags will go back to them, they were too classical a style for today's NFL. Of course Coughlin is back, so ...
Quote:[BAD WORD REMOVED], you really think the Patriots really care about their team uniforms and colors?? No, they couldn't careless about team colors.
The only thing the Patriots care about is winning games.
You guys really need to get passed the idiotness of uniforms and focus on the real matters of the fact.
But these
are losing uniforms... Have you ever worn one of these jerseys in the summer/fall sun? Whatever moron decided that plastic on the shoulders was a good idea should be flogged. It's like putting a couple of hot-plates over the shoulder pads.
As long as this team is wearing hot-plates on their shoulders, they will be burned out by the end of September.
Aside from that, I agree... Who gives a crap what they look like.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure we're stuck with the unis for at least one more year... Unless ownership changes again, uniforms can't be changed again until 5 years pass.
Probably would be more productive to talk about changing the uniforms when it is actually possible to do so.
This subject keeps coming up but uniforms can only be changed every 5 years.
We have two to go....unless the Team is sold that is.

Bingo.

I actually like our current uniforms. The mustard on the helmets needs to go as soon as possible.
2007-2008 unis, the new logo slapped on those helmets and update the crawler logos on the sleeves. Then, it's a win.
Just fade the helmet more, no "changes" (wink wink) need to be done. I mean look at this crap...
Quote:Here's what I would do:
My first order of business would be controversial, but better in the long run. I would change teal to olive green. It fits the military team idea, and goes so much better with black and gold. You could do some really sweet uni's with this scheme. In fact, I can't think of a "military" Jags piece of gear I haven't wanted to buy. Why not make it permanent? Don't get me wrong, I like teal. I just don't believe it's a marketable color.
Now, I realize some die hard fans have committed to teal, but outside of Teal Curtain and a few support organizations, what identity has this team build around this color? We've had like 4 different shades of teal since the inception of this franchise. It would be far better to build the new team around a military identity, use a color that's associated with the military, then market it that way.
Next.
I would have a solid color helmet... sort of. I would do a matte black that had Jaguar spots on it. The Jag spots would be matte black as well, but would be designed to appear only when the light hit in just the right angle. So, in a way, it's a combo of the speckled helmets, but instead of just swapping too a teal, it would most resemble a black Jaguar in the wild. Our logo would be on the side as it is currently (I would love to do a version of this that was all black, but the NFL wouldn't allow it).
The away uniform would be a simple, sleek design. Our dark uni would be all black, trimmed in olive green and gold, with our numbers in gold. I believe the NFL rules stipulate that your numbers have to contrast against the black, so gold would be the best option. The sides of the uniform on both the jersey and pants would mirror the helmet (in that it would be black on black, with the Jaguar spots being able to be seen in just the right light), with the front and rear facing jersey being a solid black.
The home uniform would represent the military. It would have a white top, with olive green numbers, and olive green pants, with black and gold trim.
The alternate uniform would be military green in it's entirety, including a matte green helm, gold numbers, and a digital camo pattern running on the sides of the legs and jersey.
You could market the hell out of this uniform. I would have written this more thoroughly, but my daughter is ready to go eat, and she's told me that too many times as I was typing this.
The fact that there was an abundance amount of tickets available for the Navy vs Notre Dame game here in Jacksonville (Nov 2016) tells you that the military personnel isn't really supporting sports here in Jacksonville.
Quote:Great argument.
I presented good reasons why olive green would be a superior color to teal. I am a fan of teal, personally, but it is not a marketable color. Olive green (as in the military green you've seen used on military Jags gear) is a great color. It would be unique to the jags, stay consistent, and would fit the military theme, making it significantly more marketable.
I do like the idea of going green, specifically military green. And some of your other ideas. Leopard/jaguar print would be kind of silly, unless it is implemented the way you described. Better than teal flakes... awful idea.
I would love to see a return to the older, simpler design. Best uniforms in the league are the simpler ones (love San Diego's... well LA's and love buffalo's ). Still don't know why we changed our uniforms in 09, we had some of the best in the nfl.
I'm "OK" with the helmets as is but I think all flat black would look pretty damn awesome.
I also don't like all the "small" amounts of colors on our current uni's.
Too many trim colors IMO.
I like more solid jerseys/pants.
Our current ones just have too much going on....if that makes sense.
I have also heard Khan is not a fan of Teal but i wish we were more Black/Teal.
Uniforms in general are more for the fans than anyone else.....the players probably care very little.
I think every five years they should put the current uniform up against 2-3 other options and
let the FANS pick them.
If they find really popular ones they wouldn't necessarily ever change.....but the team makes more money the more options there are
for fans to spend their money on.

I think my avatar tells you what I'd like to see.
