I knew we wouldn't draft Teddy but Watkins or Mack would of been the choice if Stl. took Bortles

He claimed to have inside source telling him it would be Watkins
Quote:They made changes to improve it from early in the season.  Why stop now?

Uhhhh, because the defence is playing well now? And they weren't early in the season...

So it's impossible that the LB position could still be improved?

Player evaluation on a ridiculously young team doesn't just stop because your defense has four good games (only two from the linebackers).

I don't get the concerns surrounding this team trying to improve the linebacker spot.  So what if Goerge gets some snaps at MLB or OTTO this week or next?  The Jags poached a fifth rounder from another team's PS and they want to see what he's got to offer.  I'm all for it. It's not like they have to leave him out there if he sucks.

Jets are pretty good at LB and I trust their scouts/coaches to know which linebackers are worth stashing.  May be a good move with very little downside.

I agree. At the very least the Jags picked up a ST staple and some depth at LB.

I pretty much would take anything Alfie writes, and use it to clean myself after a good healthy deuce.
Does it matter, we are in a losing season well, why not use the next 8 games to see where some players fit to see if they can contribute in the 2015 season. I liked JT Thomas at MLB but at times he wasn't great. MLB usually get more than 4 tackles a game and JT Thomas should thank Telvin Smith for tipping that ball for the interception, and if you guys don't remember that interception play he almost cost the team a safety. So yeah he had a good game but to me it was a below average game if u take out the interception. That being said lets try news things out with different players at different positions.

Well, Well, Well...

A Rookie replacing a Veteran???

Possibly...

WHY?

Bradley on George:

Quote:“With him, we saw his traits,” Bradley said. “He has short-area quickness. He has really good speed and is really instinctive in the box against the run. What we needed to look at was his pass drops. That’s what took him a couple of weeks to really get a feel for what we’re asking him to do.

Did We or Did We Not take a "Step Back" @ the LB position?

NH3...
Gus mentioned great play by everyone except Hayes. That's not something to overlook. Been hearing about him alot to. Could see Thomas at OTTO with Smith backing up, George at MLB with Thomas backing him up and Watson at Will with Smith backing there as well. Reynolds third string.
They liked him before the draft, snagged him off the Jets PS when they had a spot.

For anyone wondering why change now that the D is playing well, there is always room for improvement on a 1-7 team, especially when a young player shows promise.

Give it a few weeks to settle.  Then ask.  Too early to tell.  Losing Poz's "QB of the defense" ability as well as his play against the run was obviously a bad thing.  It looks like it might be a small step back in those areas - but a step forward in coverage.  Give it time to settle.

And it was Tannehill!  Way too early to tell.
George was a 5th round pick by the Jets.  We did the same thing and put our 5th round pick Chris Smtih on the practice squad, we got lucky nobody picked up Smith of the practice squad.  Jets probably thought they would get lucky like we did but we jumped on it lol

Couldn't the Jets tell Caldwell sorry, you can't have him?

Head Coach Bradley gave it One Week...

As I stated and started the thread of "Taking A Step Backward", I saw the deficiencies of J.T. Thomas as the coaches did as well...
